...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I click "Set timezone preference", Scroll till I get what I want, and click "set this as my timezone". I then get redirected back to my profile change, and the timezone is still Los Angeles.
Down at the bottom of the main profile page, there's a button marked "save" — are you clicking that after you set your timezone?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.No, the page blinks back to the original, I don't get a chance to click it.
Edit: And now i've done it on a different computer, and it seemed to work...

Is your browser blocking cookies from tvtropes.org?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I seem to have the same problem, I'm afraid: I go to my profile, click on the button labelled "Set timezone preference", select an appropriate timezone, click the button labelled "set this as my timezone" and return to find the timezone given as "America/Los_Angeles".
In answer to the above question, I don't seem to be blocking cookies from TV Tropes; there seem to be a few TV Tropes cookies present.
My Games & WritingToo many cookies, maybe, if there is such a thing?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI have a strange issue. I'm able to set a lot of things to my current timezone, but there's a lot of stuff, such as when a forum post was edited, that auto-reset themselves to West Coast time.
Which leads to strange instances of the post being made at say 10:00 AM and edited at 8:01 AM... Like so?

I've seen that with other tropers, too.
Yes, that seems to be a very widespread issue.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI have a screenshot example to clarify what I mean:

Yah, I get that too. It bugs me, and I'm considering not setting a timezone and just learning to convert in my head. Time zone preference doesn't affect page history either, as far as I can tell.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Perhaps - I won't try it now, but it may be worth a shot at a later stage, I think. Thank you for the suggestion. ^_^
My Games & WritingAny fix for this yet?
Tech Wishlist is thisaway.

I just moved it. Should have said something.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The time zone cookie works for me on the subforums, but when viewing the forum as a whole it still shows west coast time
"I could eat a knob at night" - Karl PilkingtonThat is a design flaw in the system.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCan said flaw be corrected?
Bumping to see if this is still an issue.
Bug doesn't seem to be an issue, the timezone thing was mentioned elsewhere so closing here.

I keep going into profile, and changing it, but it keeps reverting to Los Angeles.
