I like this one◊.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.I agree that the shark mouth is as iconic as it can get
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".Yeah, as much as I like the Jolly Roger, the Shark Mouth was a meme before the internet (older than cyberspace?).
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Really like Shark Mouth.
Fight smart, not fair.I agree that a shot of the the shark mouth should definitely be used here, and I like this one◊, personally.

Any of the shark mouths would work for me...as much as I like the ones with the teeth around the air intakes, the one of the A10's nose gun is really nice too.
So, this one isn't nasal tattoos and noserings as I first thought. Shark-mouth art good. I like post 2.

Hm, collage of the several different kind mentioned? I personally think the shark mouth is the most common type you'll see in speculative fiction, and stuff. I've really only seen pictures in WWII movies.
Just ran a GIS, really reminds about how much I loathe the GIS software.
Republic Gunship [4], and I'll try to find some more as soon as my machine stops constantly locking up.

Fight smart, not fair.I'd prefer just the sharkart — 350px is doesn't lend itself to collages all that well. I'd suggest it's better to have one really good clear image than a bunch of squidgy ones.
Honestly, I'd prefer to have a RL pic for this one...I like those A10 shots.
Yeah, the RL stuff seems a bit more compelling somehow. Here's the second A10 shot at wiki size. Seems quite striking (and oddly comic. Whatever they are doing, the aircraft doesn't seem pleased.)
I like that one. A lot. For one thing, I really like that it's from head-on; a perspective on nose art that's almost never seen. And it certainly gives the plane a personality.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it."GRAAAR! Angry face!"
"Geez, guys, when you painted my face would it have been too much to not make me cross-eyed?"
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it."Only the smallest hairdressers can work on Angry Cross-eyed Princess Leia."
(Ok, maybe not.)
LOL. Shark mouth it is. I think we have a winner.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48I'd really like to find one of an A-10 firing, so it looks like the mouth is breathing fire.
More from the front: refueling◊, cruising◊.

"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".Agreed on both.
Okay, I move that we have a vote off:
-vs-
FIGHT!
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Everyone think it's time for a crowner then?
Fight smart, not fair.Wow, now I'm divided. I want to go for one of the P-40 pictures because the shark-faced P-40s were arguably the Trope Codifier (if not, then it would be the Red Baron's red Fokker Triplane). On the other hand, the maligned A-10 that is presumably snarling angry short words at all the airmen scrambling around on him is very striking. And I can't stop laughing at the idea of the airplane bitching about everything.
Re, the refueling picture "OW! Jerk! You poked me in the forehead on PURPOSE, didn't you?!"

I'd like to nominate this one here◊.
