Those would be Agni & Rudra. Beowulf was the gauntlets and grieves. I dunno. I liked the concept of Agni & Rudra, but I could never find the right beat with those two. It was just easier to use Rebellion and Beowulf when Dante already fought like that in past games (i.e. Alastor, Ifrit, and Sparda in 1, all weapons and Trish in 2). Besides, it's pretty easy to link the two Devil Arms together during combat, especially when using Swordmaster.
Yeah, I tended to use swordmaster as my norm style anyways. On occasion quicksilver or doppleganger got used.
Never got the hang of Royal Guard.
I never deviated too far from Agni & Rudra/Rebellion and Ebony & Ivory/Shotgun using Trickster. I got pretty good at switching weapons mid-attack and Trickster was pretty good for closing in on enemies and generally traversing the levels.
I only used Swordmaster when I was trying to break open those statues around the tower. I tried using the Gun Style for a bit, but I didn't care for it since using the guns doesn't seem to do too much damage and you don't seem to get a very good score for it.
I used SM mainly, with A&R and Rebellion or Nevan. Nevan's great if you know how to use it: get off a Jam Session in a crowd for guaranteed SSS. The Artemis with Gunslinger was great too, shame about the inability to switch in battle. Am I the only one who found RG harder to use in DMC 4 than 3?
Likes many underrated webcomicsWell, as much as people (including myself) have been bitching about the DMC reboot, This looks pretty darn boss. I would have LOVED to have played that sequence unspoiled.
Maybe if it wasn't as scripted as all hell. And that's a big maybe.
Too much half-assed playforming, not enough, you know, fighting.
The fact that they need to break up the combat with sequences like that is kind of telling as to what the combat will actually be like...
Methinks he fact that the combat is floaty and choppy, not to mention much slower than it was in 3 and 4 serves as a pretty good indicator of how bad the combat is.
I agree. If they make it more groundbased with a massive speed boost we'd be getting somewhere.
I've heard complaints about how the city bit is scripted, and maybe I'm just dumb, but how else would you do it? The only other way I can think of would make it into a huge pain in the ass platforming section where every thing is constantly shifting around and trying to fall and smash you and you end up falling into bottemless pits over and over because platforms you thought were going to stay still moved out of your way after you jumped or something. Sure, you would eventually memorize the patterns, but it'd slow things down to be sure.
Also, the game looks eh. Sorry for the trouble.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Think I'll wait for the demo before I make a judgment call on this one. The more I see of it, the less antipathy I feel towards it.
Thank you, I was wondering that as well.

I think it's because Tameem was hyping it up as this huge dynamic thing, and even cited it as the reason that they couldn't get the game to run at 60 FPS. Then it turns out it's just a scripted sequence where you run in a straight line and maybe jump once or twice.

Oh, Tameem. Can't you do anything right?
I hope that's not a serious question is it?
Now, we don't want this thread locked too, do we?
Likes many underrated webcomicsI was just about to post the exact same thing. I realize that avoiding talking about all the bad things about DMCINO leaves almost nothing to talk about and all, but jeez...
Here's the deal: let's keep this thread primarily about games one through four. DmC has its own thread, so we shouldn't bring that up here.
Unless someone poses a legitimate question/concern about DmC or has found about some new development or footage, let's try to keep our posting on the other thread limited as well.
For everyone's sake, let's agree to keep the pot shots at Tameem to minimum since everyone's doing that anyway.
Well, the only reason we're talking about DINO is because its thread was locked in the first place, otherwise we'd still just be talking about the series in general.
Besides, its not like any of us have malicious intent in our criticisms, we actually bring up good points in a civil manner. And any jokes we make are always in good fun.
Wait, the DmC thread was locked?
Well, it was. It was recently just unlocked since the mod got a few pms requesting it.
I'll give it a week.
#IceBearForPresidentYeah I'll keep the 'reboot' crap talking to a minimum. So, who's looking forward to the HD Collection release?
ME!!!
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-AnsemI don't know whether I'll buy it. Sure, I love DMC, but I've got a reeeeaaaally long videogame wishlist first. And anyway, 4 was my favorite

I was more of a dual sword guy on the game. I can't for the life of me remember what they are called. I also used those grieve things, pretty cool I guess.
