[up] That would be better on Bad Cop/Incompetent Cop.

This trope is where they are just useless (as they do not or can not do anything important, like the story is written around them, they just show up after the event happened and arrest the guy and that type of thing.) not flat out Too Dumb to Live idiots.

Oh, I see... That one is also imageless though... We might get two birds with one stone here. smile

This is being as hard as I expected... Maybe something from these panels, showing the cops arriving after superman (superboy? I dunno) is done and all might work, but the dialog is barely visible, so it might be in need of some shopping...

Here's the old thread, for pic reference.

[up] I can't read that, it's too small. That Chief Wiggum pic is currently on Juggling Loaded Guns.

Just some stock cartoon I found.

[up] Unfortunately, we can't use single-panel cartoons without permission, otherwise I'd say that'd be great.

I've found that episode I was talking about, "boy-scoutz 'n the hood", and the scene where Wiggum plays checkers with a police dog. Maybe that and the quote from that scene as a caption, "I keep telling you, lady: your husband and son have to be missing for a week before we can start searching. I'd like to help sooner, I would. But we're very, very busy down here."?

[up] I'm updating my iPhone right now and it's got my desktop jacked up, so I can't play around with resizing. Can someone upload a 350 px version of that pic so we can see if the fuzziness gets cleaned up any when it's reduced? Thanks in advance.

I think the dog picture is good. There's also this http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/fivelivebreakfast/2007/08/pointless_signs.html although it's probably not an example. I just found the sign funny.

@ plenum, can you give me a source, or ep/season number for that image? I don't like the image quality on it.

iTunes sorted itself out finally, and I played around with the resizing...it looks better at 350 and 300, but not by much.

Grand Theft Auto comes to mind... anyone have screenshots of the in-game police doing something really stupid?

[up][up][up]As I said, the episode is "boy-scoutz 'n the hood", eighth episode of season five. Google Video wasn't too kind (the only high-quality episode it listed had that scene cutted off sad), but there are other sources. Cropped looks better though, if not a tad blurry. It looks more "soft" than anything.

The sign picture is funny, but I think it is on the same grounds as the pulled pic: it talks about the trope rather than showing it. Which I would be happy with, but Eddie's apparently not.

I agree with Mad on this one; that picture says "we're having a slow day" more than anything else.
