This is the thread where we discuss all things relating to the 2600. Games, hardware, whatever.

So far, my favorite games for it are Adventure, Basketball, and Berzerk.

I recently got the Chuck Norris Superkicks/Artillery Duel double ender. Chuck Norris is actually pretty impressive, considering there aren't many beat 'em ups for the system, and you get more moves as you progress, which is pretty cool, but it's also kind of frustrating because you can only be one or two pixels away from an enemy in order for your attack to register. Oh, and walking on grass hurts Chuck Norris..... yeah. Unfortunately, Artillery Duel is just a really bad artillery type game, so it's not really worth discussing.

Aww, only one post? I guess the Atari is before most people's time.

I had one of these things as a kid and there's so many nostalgic memories of it. Especially Keystone Caper and Pitfall, which rank among the few games I can still play.

I agree, Pitfall is great. I love how you can run under the levels for certian stretches, sort of as a predecessor to how you can run on top of the underground levels in the first Super Mario Brothers. The Tarzan-style scream as you swing on vines is pretty cool.

I never had a 2600, but I do have a PC game that has a collection of all the old Atari games, so...

Collections like that are generally the best way to get into the 2600. Atari Anthology and Activision Anthology alone give you a decent chunk of the system's library, plus they have the manuals, which aren't always easy to come by.

Okay, Captain SNES is a comic that basically acts as a sequel to Captain N. At one point there is a five page bonus comic about Captain Atari. The three villains that Captain Atari must defeat are Evil Otto, from Berserk, Croc, from Pitfall! and Spinner. I've scoured the net, but I have no idea which game Spinner comes from. Does anyone know?
