Hmmmmmmm…intriguing.
So…I'm not sure if something like this was discussed before, but I've kinda been wondering about the likelihood of seeing Dipper and Mabel Pines at some point in the future of this show recently.
That would be amazing.
It could be a nice way to give Henry some more development.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton! They'd probably have to get Alex Hirsch's okay to do so, since I don't think he'd appreciate this crossover happening without being informed.
Ironically, I was envisioning things the OTHER WAY AROUND, with some of the characters from Once showing up in Gravity Falls, old-ish ficspawn I had in my head that I forgot about until just now. The idea was, somehow, one of the artifacts in Rumple's shop gets accidentally sold to the Mystery Shack, and that means that now Emma has to fly across the country to find out what was stolen, what it does (so that probably means Henry's gotta come too), and get it back before someone misuses it, or worse, someone knows what it does and plans to misuse it.
In my head, it'd open in live-action in Storybrooke, then when they find out where it was sent to, it suddenly cuts to the Gravity Falls opening credits and the whole rest of the fic is animated.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatCrossover?
I kinda meant that OUAT would have its own version of the Gravity Falls characters. Like how it has its own version of Belle, Snow White, Prince Charming, Ariel, Mulan, Captain Hook, and pretty soon Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff, etc.

Except that Dipper and Mabel are from the modern day, not a fairy tale. And they live on the other side of the country. So they A. wouldn't be affected by the curse, and B. wouldn't be able to find the town if they wanted to.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIn my defense, OUAT had its own version of Pongo, who was only in the modern day. Ergo, if that could happen, the same thing could happen to Dipper and Mabel.
But then again, they're on the other side of the country? Ohhhhh. I guess you make a valid point.
Oh well, a part of me still thinks it could be doable.
Speaking of fairy tales, would anyone object to seeing characters from The Emperors New Groove or maybe even…The Black Cauldron?
Oh geez, now I'm starting to wonder how The Horned King would make for a potentially great Bigger Bad.

I liked Black Cauldron.
I've never seen the Black Cauldron, but I wouldn't be against more Disney characters showing up. This show's basically part Disney anyway.
I get the feeling they'll only be able to use the Horned King if Lloyd Alexander, or his estate if he's passed on, is happy with their handling of Pyrdain, and something tells me that's a bit out of the question.
And no, the Dalmatians movie is set around the 1920's or such, and it's based on a book. Gravity Falls is explicitly set in the here and now, in Oregon, and is an original idea. So again, I think my idea would be more viable than yours. If you had ideas for like, Henry and Mabel bonding or something (Or Dipper/Henry Mystery Bros or whatever you'd wanna call that Heterosexual Life-Partners-type pairing), it'd work just as well my way I think.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatDidn't Lloyd Alexander say at some point in his life that he liked The Black Cauldron?
Oh,it looks like I'm not the only one who thought of the Horned King showing up in OUAT.
But hmmm, the real Big Bad of the Chronicles of Prydain was King Arawan, right?
Ok, what if the Horned King in OUAT was actually a badly resurrected form of this King Arawan who was already a bad king when he was still Arawan, but then he got killed in some major war and some of his loyal followers tried bringing him back to life through dark magic or something, but instead, he came back as the Horned King who still had the memories of King Arawan, but was sicker, crazier, and all-around more F'd-up than Arawan ever was?

Thaaaaaaaat'd probably flush whatever goodwill Alexander had left with Disney down the toilet. Even though the movie pretty much ruined the main heroes, they did show that Arawn (not named in the movie) and the Horned King are not the same guy. In the book, the Horned King was basically Darth Vader, not a just a wrinkly old lich, though.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatBah, everyone's a critic…
Last night I read our pages on The Black Cauldron. It didn't mention Lloyd Alexander losing good will with Disney at all. He made it clear that the movie's an In Name Only version of his books, but that he actually liked the movie and hoped that everyone who saw it liked it too. Considering he basically divorced the books and movie from each other, I'm not sure Disney would even need his permission to do an OUAT version.
And even if they do, unless there was some later development that wasn't covered on our page, I don't think it'd be very difficult for Disney to get permission. They might even be able to reconcile the book and movie somewhat so the vision they give of that series is more in line with the original.
I know they've said no Olaf, but I'd like to see him winked at by having Elsa create snowlems.
Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiOh thank god.
I don't outright hate Olaf, but Henry already drives me nuts in this show so not having Olaf will make this season survivable.
I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.I just had a thought... If you were an outside person, with no known connection to any fairy tales, and you somehow wandered into Storybrooke, I've a feeling it would be like you wound up in Silent Hill.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatMaybe? I don't think Storybrooke isn't quite at threatening or fucks with your head as much as Silent Hill, but I can see what you're saying.
Eh, not really. As long as you stay away from the bad guys, it's more like accidentally wandering into one of those reenactment villages with really good special effects. Oh, and everyone's batshit insane thinking they're fairy tale characters.
I'm sure it would seem friendly and stable at first, but in my scenario, that'd ratchet up the creepy factor, since I envision you driving past that same spot a million times and never seeing a town there, or even any exit to get there, and it's one of those things where you were in an accident or something and just wound up there.
Because soon it'll become clear you're Not Supposed To Be There, and that Curse is going to start trying to get rid of you.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatStorybrooke is That Weird Town in Maine. just ask Greg.
ophelia, you're breaking my heartI don't think we can.
...there's a literary technique for addressing something that can't answer you back that would be really apt right now.
ophelia, you're breaking my heartWait, Storybrooke is in MAINE?
Shit, that actually does make sense. Storybrooke and its inhabitants don't exist. It's all Henry.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.So to escape a drudge-filled life with a mom who seems to be away for long stretches of time, he invented a scenario where the residents of a nearby town were actually cursed fairytale characters that only he could free from... Wait, what was so bad about the Curse again? Digression aside, that would explain why everything in town revolves around him, why everyone seems to be related to him, and why certain things just don't really seem very accurate. If this wasn't on the WMG page for this show already, it should be.
But I still like my idea of Storybrooke turning into a Silent Hill-esque nightmare if any outsiders found their way in.
