Violates the 'No real life examples on page' blurb.: Ugly Guy Hot Wife

I asked this in Ask The Tropers but I was told to ask in here. There is a note on this page saying that there should be no real life examples listed but, the image is a real life example,so should we pull the image?

Real Life sections can be banned for a number of reasons: they overwhelm the page, they become filled with complaining or drooling, they get filled with Natter. The page image doesn't present any of those problems. I see no reason to change it.

Fixed the tag, the tropes actual name is Ugly Guy, Hot Wife, not Ugly Guy Hot Girlfriend. Anyway, this image it next to perfect. I say keep it.

It contradicts the page's own rule, though. If we can carve out exceptions for the image, why can't we carve out exceptions for having a few specific real-life examples that are watched for natter?

The rabbit isn't all that ugly, though. That pic just says Interspecies Romance to me.

You're taking the trope's name too literally. There's a difference between "ugliness" and "unattractiveness as far as dating goes."

For example, a guy who's just "cute" (in a very literal sense) wouldn't have the social stigmatization of an "ugly" guy, but still, it's not the kind of appearance that's advantageous to dating. So, even if he's the opposite of ugly in every other sense, he's "equivalent" to ugly in the context of dating. *

It's not that the image gets and exception to the example rules, it's that images and examples have different sets of rules to follow. There are some rules that images have to follow that examples don't, and vice versa. The reason Real Life examples aren't allowed just doesn't apply to images.

Still, it wouldn't hurt to switch to a Roger Rabbit pic just so that it doesn't seem as hypocritical. The only reason I've seen against it is that he isn't "ugly," which is irrelevant because the idea is that his appearance is "equivalent" to ugly as far as dating goes.
