Still loving this show.
iM@S archive of materials.Bumping this up because I'm being More Aggressive. (I know the thread has the season 1 subtitle on it, but might as well talk season 2 here too.)
Anyways, it's the usual Tamayura goodness. I like that we're getting so much Chihiro already, and there's also her friend Tomo-chan, who looks to be a lot of fun. Looking forward to their inevitable meeting with the main cast.
No real info on the new girl yet, except that she's a bit of a stalker.
Looking forward to how Potte's attempt to start a photography club works out.
Episode 1: Kinda boring.
Disclaimer: I haven't watched S1, and I suppose I should if I am to care about the characters.
Two more episodes before I decide if I go through with it, but I have a feeling I'll drop it.
Uh yeah, if you want to decide whether to follow this show, go back and watch the OVA's first, and then the 1st season if you still need more episodes to decide. This season is most definitely about building on what happened previously, and you're not going to get the full significance of Potte's desire to be "more aggressive" without seeing that.
If you get bored watching the OVA's and the 1st season, then just forget about the second season entirely.
Yep. It takes a certain mindset to be able to watch iyashikei shows like Tamayura. The title to this season, "More Aggressive!" is a bit of a misnomer too, as the most aggressive you'd EVER get Potte to be is disagreeing on whether to use digital cameras, or stick with analog.
It definitely feels like one of those gradual grinder shows... and as I have no desire to watch the OVAs and S1, I suppose I'll just call it quits here.
dont blame you. I'm a patient guy but even i would loose my mind if tried to marathon all of season 1 and the OVA's
The new OVA is out, for anyone interested
Being cleverer than you look is better than looking cleverer than you are.Just a reminder, the first movie of the four-part finale to Tamayura is out and subbed. Bring tissues, as this movie can be quite emotional on its own, especially with the Passing the Torch moment. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to Potte and her friends...
Whoa. This first movie is a whole story in itself. No real loose ends left hanging for the next movie to address other than the whole talk about their dreams.
I wonder if the final movie will have a "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue? It'll be nice to see I think.
The intent of the four movies is to take us from the friends' final year and beyond. Also, if you squint enough, you'll realize that the run time for the movies in total will be equal to a single "season".
Rewatching the first two seasons for the hell of it. I can't believe I never noticed that Tomo and Karen were voiced by the same seiyuu.
Said seiyuu also voiced Chitoge, Yui and Pafu. Talk about a wide range.

The second movie's surprisingly good, far more than initial expectations
The only resource you need for tropesI absolutely loved the third movie. First half was quite amusing and ended with a good resolution, but the second half was something else entirely.
No amount of squinting will make that claim true. The Graduation Photo movies are around 51 minutes each, and the average runtime for a TV season episode is 24 minutes. 12 * 24 = 288 minutes, and assuming this trend to hold for the final movie, we'll end up with around 204 minutes altogether, which is less than a season.

The only resource you need for tropesJust finished the third movie.
Now we're tackling the meaty parts, the important parts about life and uncertainty. I loved the many techniques they used in the scenes to bring across what the characters were thinking. I'm looking forward to seeing what the girls eventually end up doing, but I'm also dreading it because we'd have to say goodbye to them then. >.<
Also, the Chaos strikes again. The number of victims has increased.
Fourth movie is out now. It's a satisfying conclusion to Tamayura
The only resource you need for tropesI almost cried at the end. >.<
Did you notice that the end credits were all just thanking a bunch of people living in Takehara (probably helped out in production), and a hell of a lot of fans of the series (no clue why)? Nothing at all about the cast. :x
Farewell, Potte and co. Also, RIP Hoboro-san. T.T

I think that they were wishing to thank all of the viewers for having made the show as successful as it did. By all counts, they succeeded, and I'm going to miss Tamayura.

its a festival, everything looks the same
