I say we need some Gotham Girls.

Yes? No? Maybe?

Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker.

Whoa, Sword of the Atom? eg. The Atom as Tarzan? Never thought I'd see that one again! DC REALLY is digging up its most obscure ideas these days! Not sure if I should be happy or scared about it.

(SBFF on the other hand, continues to amuse. They made fun of their own name LOL.)

Is it just me or did the Atom short look like it was done by the Young Justice team? The animation/art style seemed similar.

Wait, didn't they already do Swords of The Atom for a Batman The Brave And The Bold ep?

[up]Yeah, I think they did.

I want a freaking BLUE DEVIL short.

You know what a want? A Jimmy Olsen: Superman's Pal series of shorts.

I can't help but feel some of these would be better as full-length episodes rather than shorts. There's a lot of potential for character and plot which just can't be expanded on in just a few minutes.

The SBFF shorts continue to be less than anything substantial. I really just don't get the appeal. If I wanted to watch Powerpuff Girls, I would watch that instead.

The shorts are pretty much intended to serve as a showcase for DC's characters. They have thousands that they could market outside comics if they only had the right publicity. But a format other than blink-they-are-gone comedy shorts would definitely be better for most.

(They should just have kept The Brave and The Bold going, it did the job far better.)

Well, we've seen the DC Animation teams aren't afraid of reusing characters, concepts and even storyline principles, so the fact some of these ideas are being used for shorts right now still doesn't mean they can't be explored in a longer format later on.

Remember when BTAS did that The Dark Knight Returns segment and people thought that'd be the only of TDKR we'd ever see in animated format?

Agreed. Brave and the Bold was great for many reasons. Showcasing heroes and villains of all walks was definitely one.

The Brave And The Bold utterly redeemed the Silver Age for me. I never realized how great the things I once held in disdain could've been with some snappy writing.

It really was a great show.

It really wasnt just the Silver Age, they adapted stuff as wide as Jaime and Ryan to Sword of The Atom and The bronze age classics. You know how some people say shows raped there childhoods? BTBATB made LOVE to it. Seriously it was amazing.

I felt BTBATB had a real drop in quality towards the end though. Things got a little too silly, characters started looking flanderized, and Batman became a Canon Sue. Still I liked the good stuff. I seriously wish they had included Blue Devil at some point though. That would have made me really love the show. But they never did include him, they just kept going for the really obscure and wacky characters just for the sake of obscurity sometimes.

I just really want Kid Devil to get animated and voiced. Most of his teammates got it. And while we're at it, Rose Wilson should get an appearance too. And no, Crisis on Two Earths Rose doesn't count.

...So its been a few days and no one on the Internet has uploaded the 4th Super Best Friends Forever short to Youtube that aired over the weekend. I...find that quite odd. Huh, I kinda wanted to rewatch it...

Zeromaegas, we get it. You don't like SBFF. There are plenty of people that do like it. Stop Complaining About Shows You Dont Like. It's annoying.

I just don't get it, is all. Why is it so popular? I mean, there's some humor there, but its not exactly hilarious. Its unremarkable. Its also sandwiched neatly between things I do like, so I see it far more often than I would if I didn't.

Also, hey, I get to comment on it just like everyone else. Threads of discussion aren't just for signing praises.

Simple—because it's for girls. Girls entertainment has been so halfassed, neglected, and stereotypical for most of TV and comics history that anything decent is OMGAWESOME by comparison.

Same deal with the new My Little Ponies cartoons. The characters are caricatures, but they're not all obsessed with makeovers and boys. The plots are simple, but they're not about...y'know, makeovers. And boys. The jokes are about average for a kids show, but...you see where this is going? It shouldn't be remarkable, but it is, because that's how low the bar's been set.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

I probably wouldn't call Super Best Friends Forever shorts made specifically for girls, actually. It's no more "for girls" than Girl Genius.

[up]Fine. Has female protagonists. Let's face it, by public standards it boils down to about the same thing.

But the public suck ass. Not to be an elitist but to them [[hottip:Just keeping this DC]], there's one Robin and hes Dick Grayson, there are two Green Lanterns ( that never coexist) and Aquaman sucks. Why the hell should what they believe matter to anyone besides the people whose job it is to cater to those sheepple?

It's just an a simple little series of shorts, no need to get your panties in a bunch

Yeah, I think it just comes down to different tastes. The art style is fun, they're quite fast-paced with some nice action, and the jokes are pretty good (but, as always, subjective). You may not like it, but there are things there for others to like. Personally, I think they'd be served by being a little longer, since plot would probably help them some.

And...yeah, they have female protagonists. Its a real delight to have three female super-heroes front, line and center.
