Yes that's the one it's called "It's a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad Marge" from Season 11 and Lizard Bite had it right.
But even Patty and Selma convincing her so easily counts as a Wall Banger,I mean yes Marge is kind of gullible, but not that much, and even then it's Out of Character for her to go mad instead of figure out something reasonable, but naive.
The couch gag was the one good thing in the whole episode
The ban from the states is from the episode "Kill the Alligator and Run", not quite sure which one the sugar ban is from,I just know it's in Season 13, "On A Clear Day I Can't See My Sister" is the episode where Bart gets restrained, and "Million Dollar Abie" is the episode where Lisa emotionally blackmails Gampa into freeing the bulls,...allowing them to maim just about everyone in town. Homer gets raped by a panda in "Homer vs Dignity". And they get imprisoned and leave for France becuase Bart unintentionally mooned the flag in "Bart-Mangled Banner"

The sugar ban one was the episode with Ben Stiller.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I know that, but that doesn't cover the name of the episode
It's "Sweets and Sour Marge". Just typed into Google "Simpsons episode with Ben Stiller" and that's what it told me.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/You mean The Simpsons was almost cancelled and it wasn't?
God dammit.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. You know, I hadn't noticed how even the episode titles are lamer nowadays.
How many times have they referenced "Alone Again Naturally" and Million Dollar Baby now?
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Almost as much as "Dial X for Y" and the Old Man And The Sea

Don't forget Dial M for Murder, lots of crap there
What the show needs is a new guy on top. I mean c'mon it's been an unholy decade since Mike Scully left the show and no one has taken over, especially when the old two year switch always worked before.
And since then The Simpsons has gone from Homer-centric/w Lisa in a bad but short subplot to Lisa-centric/w Homer in a wacky subplot. From gag-heavy satire on current events,to humorless stuff referencing already dated stuff.
I'd say cancel it,but Seasons 21 and 22 were golden, and the 19th one was too shabby either.
I dont get why people want it to be cancelled at all...
Its bound to get good episodes every now and then, and so long as that happens, I am happy... but then again, thats just me.
"That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death itself may die."On topic, I have to say that when I saw the episode, I actually recognized the art style of the couch gag and I don't even watch/like Ren And Stimpy. Odd. Well, it was more of a "Hey, this sort of looks like John Kricfalusi's style" before "John K." appeared on the TV.
Wow, it seems that tv tropes criticism of John K is known even by some of those commenters.

I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsMy God, that's some real fanboyism in there.
Why was this thread ressurected?
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.
Yeah, sorry about that...I just found it interesting how in almost every John K. post, the commenters are almost unanimously agreeing with him. I'll just let this die.
I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsBecause almost unanimously disagreeing with him makes so much more sense?
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...Of course!
I don't know, I just thought I'd see more of a mix of opinions.
I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsSo Homer got labotomized and finally choked Bart to death?...yep, definitely John K.
Very odd piece, even by his standards. At least his characters usually look like they are moving organically.
"It's interesting, that Will Finn, who has worked as a supervising animator and storyboard artist for Disney movies, some of which were at one point criticized by John K, doesn't share the contempt the tropers have for him."
I read Kricfalusi's blog and he makes a lot of good points. His blog is actually a very useful tool for cartooning advice. Yes, cartoons should be better drawn, and exaggeration makes them seem more alive. Yes, more natural, earthy colours should be used in the backgrounds. But I also think he's incredibly difficult to please to the point of being snobbish, and what right has he to criticize the work of Will Finn, my new #1 favourite animator? I think that it's unfair that he bashes Finn's work though they both worked on 'Free Birds' and both seem to have the same ideas about cartooning. I like Finn because he doesn't share contempt for anybody; he's got his own distinctive style and his animation is lively and energetic. Despite the "house style" that John bashes, Finn's work on characters such as Cogsworth and Iago are really something special. So yeah, not much contempt for John, it's just I like Will much better at the moment.

John K. is a kind of a curious figure to me. You see, on the one hand, I do agree that he's an arrogant bitter prick, but I understand why he is the way he is and agree with him surprisingly often. Furthermore, while I do agree that his animation style is sometimes unnecessarily grotesque in movement and especially design, I must say that it is nonetheless extremely original and even refreshing compared to some of the trite, lazy stuff that's out there.
