Why can he make something that isn't so incredibly ugly >_>

Wait, so that was done by the real John K, and not just a parody of him? I guess John K must really have turned into a parody of himself then.

To quote the current top comment, "I think John K. has finally lost it."

Wow, that surprises the hell out of me. I (used to) read John's blog a lot and it seemed every other week he'd go into a tirade about the Simpsons. Maybe he's finally lightened up a bit?

I really don't like how his style has evolved. The drawings themselves as as awesome as always, but its the animation that seems to have gotten worse. Maybe he IS better off working under another supervisor?

Johnny Boy gives an interesting interview about the making of the opening on Cartoon Brew.

I'm not sure if it comes off more as a parody of The Simpsons or a parody of John K.

I draw this comic-like thing sometimes.

How is he a hypocrite? He thinks the animation in the Simpsons is crap, and he still does. That is why he animated the entire sequence by himself, even though they originally asked him to just direct it and offered to animate the rest themselves, according to an interview.

That's the opposite of hypocritical, he's completely sticking to his opinion.

John K. will make a short for anyone if they pay him. Its how he makes some of his money. I thought it was too fast paced,

This reminded me of the "Worker and Parasite" bit from the show itself.

They should have him do an Itchy and Scratchy segment.

I really think this needs to become a tradition for The Simpsons: couch gags by invited artists, even when I know a little "gimmicky"...Don Bluth, Johen Vasquez, Bryan Lee O'Maley...OK, now I'm just dreaming too much evil grin

Well that was everything horrible about recent cartoons.

And it's odd that he should only make a couch gag now, considering how relevant he isn't.

John K. is a fucking has-been. He should just leave animation and follow the J.D. Salinger route.
