A soldier shooting civil, especially with the caption Just Following Orders doesn't strike me as a justification of questionable action for the greater good. In fact the implication of this are very unfortunate(the holocaust was for the greater good ?). I ask for an immediate pull which may be followed with a reflection of whether or not we can find better.

edit: picture already used at the trope Just Following Orders.

I have to agree that it's not a good page image, because Just Following Orders is quite different from I Did What I Had to Do.

How about Krunch killing the gnome in Looking For Group?

some caption text

Is that a real life picture? If so, I think it should be pulled immediately from both pages.

This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.

[up][up] Image is too big. Crop and focus on most demonstrative panel(s).

Be more precise, please? The first panel is necessary to explain why he had to kill the gnome. The second line is the action. The third line is the actual "I did what I had to do." line. What do you suggest be eliminated?

I'd be fine with pulling the current pic from both pages. The LFG pic is fine for this page.

LFG picture is fine.

I have no idea why there is not a picture of Jack Bauer already up for this trope.

Kidnap civilians. Check. Torture my brother/girlfriend/friends for info. Check. Give myself up to the Chinese to be tortured and then be rescued so I can be given to some Muslim extremist. Check.

[up]Do you have an image that captures that? I like the Looking For Group image.

Not necessarily, it at least demonstrates the Just Following Orders one.

@ violettglass: simply being an example isn't good enough to be the page image, since the image isn't a written example, it's supposed to visually express the trope.

[up][up]I don't know; using a Real Life atrocity for something like this is in pretty bad taste.

It's not even a good example of this trope, either; the LFG one is much better.

I wasn't recommending it for this one. I was recommending it for Just Following Orders.

If you wish to discuss a picture for Just Following Orders, then you should start a new thread to avoid derailing this one. Until then I hope it will not be considered impolite to keep the article unchanged for now.
