Put it basically...I got to the repeating hallway part...immediately after I got past that, I quit...holy hell that's scary!
I'm not even sure if I still got courage to try it again...
Give me cute or give me...something?Thats probably the scariest part of the game. Press on after it and... well, you know those marks on the board?
They mean something. I'd also say that if you have a nervous disposition, and see no marks on the board after blowing up the door to the north of the surgery room, you... might want to restart and make some choices differently.
EDIT: There's also a Lets Play of the game somewhere on the internet that shows the game through to the end and all the endings... and it spoofs it all the way through so it takes the edge off the fear element.

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.I liked it the first few run throughs. The Electrocution scene was horrifiying, if only because it lasts for over 4 minutes (I'd like to say I counted, but I didn't).
The comedy ending just sin't worth it though.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Especially given that someone extremely unlucky could potentially get it completely by accident if they don't cut the safety override.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.I did look up some video..it feels funny that the revelation, while shocking, isn't that scary...maybe because the subsequent flashbck took place in the real world and not the artifact prison...
Give me cute or give me...something?The gamefront download isn't working. Any other way to get it?
I saw a Let's Play of this game on You Tube. Yikes, that is one nasty game. If you asked me to put a Laconic Description of this game down, I would put it to you like this: Silent Hill meets Event Horizon. Anyone who has at least read up on those two works should know that a combination of the two is going to be High Octane Nightmare Fuel times two!
I have to say that the overall puzzle of collecting the body parts and putting them together is not just ghoulish, but it also raises the question of how that was supposed to advance the plot. I have a theory on this. The body parts represent all the people that Sarah, the character you're playing as, killed. A number of the body parts were certainly located in areas where Sarah killed someone and hid the body. Sarah putting the parts together and putting a blanket over the corpse was her Due to the Dead. The corpse trapping her in the quarantine chamber represents her secret desire to be imprisoned and punished for her acts of murder. Escaping the chamber means that she decided to live and seek redemption. At that point, the way to the White Chamber is opened up, meaning that she is ready to finally discover what she had done and receive judgement. I don't know if that's the answer, but I think it helps to understand some of the Mind Screw portions of the game.
By the way, does anyone know why the title of the game in not capitalized? Is it an attempt to stand out by going against the norm?

Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!^ Isn't that because Arthur is railroading everything?
For the title, probably just for stylistic choice...
Give me cute or give me...something?That's true, that might be the only reason. Still, I just kept getting the impression that a number of the horrible or scary moments, as well as the bizarre puzzles, were supposed to mean something or have a point to them. Do you think there will be a sequel to this game? I mean, the ending showing the Artifact deep in a forest (on the island Sarah's on or somewhere else?) definitely had a Or Is It vibe to it.

Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!@Tiggers: Was it Mike Mnemonics LP?
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.I'm sorry, did I say a Let's Play? What I meant was a Walkthrough. Why? Would you like to see it?
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!Sadly, I doubt an official sequel will ever come about, as Studio Trophis officially closed nearly two years ago. It's a shame, because I would love more of this to come from them.
Jurassic Park is frightening in the dark All the dinosaurs are running wildYou're right! That is a shame!
I was the only one who thought it was weird that Sarah said something about a spy? I mean, Arthur's name wasn't said, but it sure gives of feeling of "Woah, where did that come from?"
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!He was sending messages back, presumably to the company the scientists worked for, without the crews knowledge. Thats where the "spy" thing comes from.
Damn, its hart to talk about this without heavy use of spoilers isn't it?
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.Yeah, it'll probably have to be 10 years after the year of its release before we can avoid the heavy use of spoilers.
I was able to find out just what was said on the third disk, because the walkthrough I looked at didn't have that displayed. The third disk is where Arthur brings up the whole spy thing, although he didn't really affirm or deny that he was one. Besides, with all the stuff going on, I'm not so sure that him being a spy would have been such a bad thing.
He said in the first disk about how no one wanted to talk about the fate of his predecessor. Interestingly, he didn't say who that predecessor was. Could it have been Dick Lee, Sarah's assistant?
The information on the first disks seem indisputable. The information on the third disk, however, brings up a big contradiction. Arthur says that he was put in Quarantine for being a spy. Okay, that might help explain the bizarre events related to the Quarantine chamber. However, he said that he escaped Quarantine and intended to get to the escape pod. One of Sarah's flashbacks show him in the titular White Chamber and Sarah killing him off there. If he was trying to get to the escape pod, then what was he doing in the White Chamber? That one really raises up my eyebrows.

Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee! It's because he and Sarah were the only ones left alive at that point, so she captured him and somehow used the artifact to kill him.
EDIT: WTF, the game has a version with full voice acting and animation?! Did I download the wrong version or what?!
edited 28th Sep '11 7:52:56 AM by SgtRicko
Evidently so. Grab the version linked to from here, why don't ya? It is the official site and all...
EDIT: Ah, so it is. Well then. Quite a shame indeed... This one seems to be the same version so far, I'm downloading it myself to be certain. And, still grab the grey tower from the original page, at least that still works. Oblivion Enterprises is in no way responsible for page banners in the first link that evoke Evony's ad campaign, or general feelings of "What horrible design" from the same.
EDIT 2: 'Tis indeed the proper version! Have at it!
Though, I must wonder why the Filefront hosted version went away...

Jurassic Park is frightening in the dark All the dinosaurs are running wildThe link's down.
Was I the only one who found it interesting that the game has some literal instances of Stuffed into the Fridge? Really, it seemed to be some kind of metaphor.
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!Try going in and out of the living quarters about three times once you see the fridge appear, but make sure not to cut it down...
Yeah, I saw that. Man, that was creepy. I'm pretty sure something like that doesn't happen in Real Life. In any case, it certainly forces to solve that puzzle with the fridge...and find out where the smell is coming from. At least you find out what is in the fridge, but not necessarily why the smell of it should be fatal.
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee! It's an alternate nightmare world that's constantly shifting soley to scare the crap out of her, so anything goes as long as she's under Andrew's influence.

I have to say that Arthurs voice actor was absolutely brilliant at his job; especially when he confronts Sarah at the end in the chamber. He sounds exactly how you'd expect someone in that situation to sound like. The main character sounds a bit wooden by comparison.

Yikes. Just played this little horror show through to the end. Anyone else played this?
The tormented ending... dear God the tormented ending... for the record I got the Damned ending, I tried to go back to get the Redemption ending but lost patience and looked the others up.
