How about a banana weapon? Perhaps an ostrich hammer? I'll go ahead and search for some.

You want my opinion, I think sord works just great. Certainly no different from the joke weapons in Soul Caliber. Not only does it look right, it's also a proper example of the trope too. So...yeah, I think removing it was being too stickler-ish.
Nah it needs to be an actual joke that Homestruck one doesnt make any sense.
Something like the Toy Bow from Persona 3 would work (which looks like a toy and fires suction cup arrows) lacking in a screen shot ATM though.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!If anyone can find a pic of a Soul Series character using one of their joke items, that'd be great.
I tried to find some stuff on the Soul Series wiki... but eventually, I said "screw it".
Then, I remembered that Final Fantasy VII had some joke weapons, and came up with this: Yuffie's Super Ball.
I'm unsure if just pictures of the weapons would be appropriate, but I'm going to just post some for now (it's very, very late where I am). If any of you guys like them, I can try to track down pictures of the characters wielding said weapon.

I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting Agency^This has four good images. The wood might look weird, and if so the third image might also work.
e: i'm liking the third image more and more. Crowner?

That whole idea is funny. I think the third one probably is the best. It's also somewhat ironic, since I'm deathly allergic to bananas.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyI freakin' love this one◊.
On an unrelated note, I like how that goes along with Schizo Tech
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".Not an example. The joke item is not just anything that looks silly, it's an item that either has no function or has very poor stats (in a game where stats matter).
A better example would be Curly's Underwear, or Chaco's Lipstick, from Cave Story.
Where is Disgaea's Horse Wiener when you need it....
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!It might be best to pair a picture of a character holding an item with a screen showing the pathetic stats of the item.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid....I'd rather not a have a picture of a horse wiener please.
Fight smart, not fair. It;s OK, they don't actually show it anyway. I think... *gulp*
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyThey don't; it's only mentioned in dialogue. The symbol on the equipment page is an exclamation point. Although for the same reason it wouldn't make a good picture.
Reaction Image RepositoryI agree.

I can't snap a shot of the rubber chicken myself cuz I don't have one, but if you'd like, I could ask someone else to get one.

Rhymes with "Protracted."I like the .gif!
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyI'm in kind of a hurry, so I couldn't find any image.
But as far as I know, soul calibur has a history of including joke items into their games. (characters fight with meat, surf tables, rubber ducks, etc.).
If anyone is willing to look them up, they'd make a perfect image.
Just call me Nac.I tried already, and GIS turned up nada. Then again, I just did a general search, so if someone wants to search for specific items, that might work,

It's a "take our word for it" sort of thing. In fact, it almost seems like the opposite of what the trope is. To me, it looks like a giant sword that just happens to be drawn poorly.
Motion to pull.
