The PS 1 version of Chrono Trigger, if that counts.

Eternal Eyes—here. Good animation, but it loses some points for bad sound mixing. That guitar sounds so tinny and subdued. You can't tell in this rip, but in the game itself, that guitar sounds terrible. Like a cheesy MIDI.
Also, most of that doesn't happen in the game, but that's par for the course.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThe first Wild Arms. Also has my favorite opening theme.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Does it have to be true anime? Because Rayman has an animated opener.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.OP post edited with nearly all suggestions made. Already thank a ton everyone, keep' em going!
Also added several other anime openings I've found thanks to Freezair For A Limited Time 's link, which had a ton of interesting related videos' links. (And, Eternal Eyes sounds like a great game. I think I'll try import it and play it one of these days.)
I said "nearly all included", because:
1) Regarding the two Persona2 games: I'm not really sure if they can really be included. They're more CG movies than anime ones (unlike, say, Persona 4's opening), IMO. I mean, I added Crush Gear Turbo which also happily uses CG, but at least the anime parts are plenty enough and clearly visible.
2) Regarding Rayman: were you talking about this opening? If yes, I'm not sure if that one can really qualify as an anime opening, either. I was looking more after FMV-style anime openings, not game engine-like rendered animation (hence why I decided not to include Twinbee Yahoo! 's opening in the list).
"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeThe original Tombi/Tomba. 2nd game was more CG, though.
'twas brillig.: Where are you located? I'm pretty sure it made it to all the major territories... North America, Europe, et al. I know it was available in NA because, er, I own it.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaNot sure if it counts, but Guilty Gear The Missing Link had a great intro, even if it was only 37 seconds long...
Tropers watching moviesThe Adventures of Alundra has an anime opening.
suikoden 2.
List updated. I only added Alundra and Tombi: both Guilty Gear The Missing Link and Suikoden 2 are Zebra Anime Openings, not anime openings (see OP post for further details).
Although I think I'll prefer going for the Japanese version of the game rather than the European one: I can read Japanese, Western versions of games usually are Bowdlerized, and currently I'm playing games in Japanese more, both for fun and to maintain/improve my Japanese (current games I'm playing are Policenauts, Kisetsu o Dakishimete, Mitsumete Knight R and Memories Ringing On, with only French version of Professor Layton And The Unwound Future in playing plans for the time being).

Not only openings, but all throughout the game as well.

I <3 that game.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Thousand Arms (Hmm... interesting. Opening song seems to be banned in youtube)
As an aside... Holy crap, someone else who has played Silhouette Mirage!

You will also notice that my location says I'm from Planet Claire, so I rarely pay attention to, or take seriously, that line.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaJust remembered a few more
Oh, and I just want to mention that the Alundra one is only in the US version.
The intro for Alundra was added by Working Designs and it's actually a combination of scenes out of the ending movie spliced with gameplay video.
Star Ocean The Second Story has a few anime bits in a largely CGI intro.
I was just going through my own games and wondering if Alundra counted. It always seemed less like anime to me than 80's-esque cartoon animation. Certainly nothing else in my game library looks quite like it.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.
So, while looking at Youtube, I found by pure chance this "Awesome Anime Openings in Video Games" video series.
As I was watching it, I wondered: "I remember the Playstation 1 (the console I'm playing the most currently) having a good chunk of games with those type of openings; but, how many EXACTLY? And no matter in which region they were released?"
So I'm now, for fun, writing down a list of those games. I've included the games the YT video series has displayed, as well as the games I know have anime openings, but weren't included in the series.
I'll also follow the same rule as the maker of the video series: no slideshow openings (or, as he names them, Zebra Anime Openings; i.e. openings that are all stills of the characters and don't actually animate), such as Guilty Gear XX Accent Core or Lightning Legend: Daigo no Daibouken's openings for example.
Care to help filling it? Also, if you want to tell about your fave anime openings on that console, feel free to do so.
