First look at Live Action Genma-Panda. I think it works. Kinda cheesy, but that works in the Ranmaverse.
Sankaku Complex link, so NSFW as hell ads:

Also, GAH THAT BAD GUY IS THE MOST HORRIBLE THING I'VE EVER SEEN WHY WHY.
Live action panda Genma.
...
I'm not convinced it works.
But yes, there is worse.
Oh dear God
I think they blew their $30 budget on the panda suit.
Oh Dear
[Sigh]. Anyone got an "Anime - this is why it should stay animated." Macro?
A good live action adaption isn't impossible but... Yeah, that probably isn't it.
MY EYES
I am remarkably okay with this.
The raw for the live action special is up on Nyaa torrents.
Oh god.... I cant look.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I can't either. Quit making live-action versions of animated things!
Only time it worked was Death Note
visit my blog!I honestly don't see why everyone's crying Ruined Forever on this. It actually looks somewhat okay. I mean, it definitely looks cheesy and low-budgeted as all hell, and my god that "villain" pic is still scarred in my brain despite my constant Brain Bleach doses, but it doesn't look offensive to me.
My concern is that Dr. Tofu will be jossed again.
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.Actually I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the live action Sailor Moon worked. Visually it was as cheesy as hell and Sailor Luna was probably a mistake but some solid performances by the actors playing Ami and the Shittenou as well as the rather... unique take on the mythos elevated it above its problems.
Here is the english softsub file in *.ass format : http://www.multiupload.com/16SRGAJ6KQ
I'm amazed that Dr. Tofu was included at all.
That is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've read lately.
I hope it doesn't reflect the quality of the movie.
visit my blog!It depends on what your idea of quality is after seeing the following screenshots: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/20/ranmalive0.jpg/
Is that thing with pink hair supposed to be Shampoo?
Judging by that she's wearing a chinese shirt, I think that is supposed to be Shampoo.
Yeah, just looking at those the whole thing seems "off." I recognize very few of the characters, and then only because some distinctive outfit gives it away. For some reason, I keep thinking I'm seeing shots from a live-action J-Horror film, like The Ring or something, instead of Ranma.
But I suppose I should actually watch it as soon as possible, just to give it a fair shake. It surely can't be as bad as Dragonball: Evolution.
visit my blog!So I have a question for the fans here who have a decent knowledge of both teh anime and manga. I've never read or watched the series. I do tend to prefer anime over manga simply because it' seasier for me to tell what's going on. (I have bad eyesight) The inclusion of music and voices also helps.
And so I was wondering how faithful the anime and OV As are to the manga? It appears, just by glancing through this thread, that the manga's ending was never animated so I'll have to check that out eventaully. But how about everything else?

Only the first few season follow the manga closely. after season 3 its pretty much anything goes.
I suggest watching the first 2 seasons first, then if it tickles your fancy keep going. I think the anime only covers about the first half of the manga anyways.
The OAVs that are based on actual manga arcs (e.g. The Ryugenzawa arc) are, AFAIK, generally faithful to the source material.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Personally I watched as much of the anime as much as possible then went back and read the chapters it didn't have.
The manga is mostly better, but not by a significant degree. Some changes from the manga include reducing Ranma's planning ability, giving Doctor Tofu some screentime in later arcs, having Ranma keep his secret from his school for longer and making about half the episodes in later seasons original gag episodes.
I like the music, so if you're like me watch up to season 3. Maybe even season 4, but we're getting pretty QUALITY after that. And of course season 7 has good animation so you should probably watch that. Definitely watch the OV As and stay away from the two movies (they are original stories, but it's like the worst TV stories going on for an hour - and they're not even funny).?
I don't think there 's much vital continuity in later chapters at least until you run into arcs about Ranma's Mother.
It's basically a matter of taste.
It's around the time Richard Cox takes over as male Ranma's VA that the series starts to drop pretty badly in quality. Not saying anything about the guy; that's just how it happened. I personally don't mind, if only because it keeps me from hearing Ranma as Inu Yasha.
If you're looking for an ending, then you're not gonna get one with the anime. Hell, it's actually worse, since the anime stops just when it introduces Nodoka Saotome (who does have a pretty good arc revolving around her) and before the Herb and Saffron arcs (both of which are just awesome).

Neither anime nor manga have an actual ending, really. The manga... just kinda stops without solving anything at all. Like a proto-School Rumble.
Yes. Nabiki...
In that WMG I put up, social service would need someone who is a bad seed but can easily be persuaded with favors and is willing to do it for money. Guess who could that be?
Because of the wire, they found out of Genma attempting to rob the Saotome family treasure as well as the attack on Nodoka by throwing a table at her and gassing her.
It's just a theory, ok?
