What he meant with that image was "ice burn", pretty much an "Aw, snap!" reaction.

Lock has it. "That was cold" = reaction to a harsh insult. "Oh, BURN!" = reaction to an excellently delivered insult. "ICE BURN!" = put two and two together.

I'm probably reading too much into it but I can see how images like that would raise support for Israel. After all the effective message is "there is no Israel, only Palestine" which is pretty close to "Israel should be wiped of the map".

[up]

Its not pretty closed by any means.

But it still points to the "Israel should not exist" message... which is not a good message.

Seeing as the "Israel should not exist" message often leads to the "Israel should be wiped of the map" message I would say the closeness is there.

So the two sides still menacing each other or have they cooled off a little?

I personally find it very unpleasant. They're just making the situation worse.

Plus, the joke wasn't funny.

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

I don't think the t-shirt makers were wanting people to read that much into it. It sounded like a bit of wish-fulfilment to me, not a call to erase Israel so completely that not even Google recognises it anymore. Problem is, of course, that it's probably the most sensitive topic on Earth right now.

If they wanted to be a bit more forceful about their message there's plenty of more shouty quotes out there to choose from.

Precisely. It's a joke in very poor taste, but that does make it more snicker-worthy.

I think it's just because militancy has apparently developed an understanding of internet-related humour. At this rate, their statement on the next round of violence will consist entirely of this and the "Oh You!" guy and dog.

And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)

It is impossible for these conversations to remain on topic. An Israeli atheist convention is being organized and YouTube commentators made the comments all about the occupation. Stuff unrelated to the conflict becomes about the conflict, and stuff related to the conflict becomes about irrelevant little details.

Since this is the only palestinian thread around (aprently because a thread about Palestine is as controversial as its statehood)

Palestinian settlers try to create settlement in occupied Palestine, at E1, which by admission of the U.S administration its fundamental for the stablishment of a 2 state solution.

Nontheless the Israeli leadership had decided to persue a one state solution and has anounced plans to anexed even more palestinian land including E1.

[1]

Now we just have to expect for Israel to crush them and for the whole world to be indignant except the U.S.

[up] If they are, Israel ceases to be a Jewish State because the Arab population of the combined territories would be about the same as that of the Jewish population, making it either a bi-national democracy (which in the eyes of extremists on either side is unacceptable)...or fulfilling the fears of some that they'll reach apartheid levels with the way they treat Arab citizens (who at the moment are treated much better than the average Palestinian Arab).

That is the least thought out "solution" I've ever seen on the subject. And thats impressive considering how many ill-thought out solutions there are on this....
