And laser pointers, oh my! (Laser pointers are really useful in close quarters, tested ;) )

To be fair, putting ironsights as a failsafe (for when said cybernetics fail) makes sense.

But if you have cyber-targeting, then you use that. Only other excuse is if you're not augmented and your gun has a fancy computerized scope on it.

I prefer having to aim in a more realistic scenario, but if we're going to have bullets that go around corners how realistic can it be?

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

Also, the pose of that guy on the boxart (last page) is silly.

How known series Syndicate is? It seems to be almost as/little bit less known as Xcom on terms of obscurity =/ Funny that bot got fps reboot. Its odd how good games that were apparently popular at some point can be so obscure these days =/

Anyway, still happy that I'm getting Syndicate from gog today x3 I love sprite graphic games...

Okay, I take what I said back, Syndicate page's size compared to Xcom based on page size is VERY obscure. I mean, nobody these days knows what Xcom is, but even geeks don't know what Syndicate is it seems D:

I am gonna be 100% honest here. Syndicate looks like it could be my GOTY. I say that cautiously with games like Dishonored and Prey 2 coming, but it looks like a strong contended. I just hope the main plot is good and the Breach mechanics don't become useless later in the game.

Well, I think that it'll be a good game, but no way a GOTY material. Dishonored has better chances of becoming a GOTY, from what I've read. Or maybe the new Hitman. Syndicate looks good, but not awesome.

I never knew about the original Syndicate until this game was announced. But given what the original was all about and how this remake is approaching things it just sounds like another Deus Ex, except more shooter-rish and with co-op. I'm gonna wait until the reviews start coming in to see if there really is anything to differentiate it from the crowd.

Maybe this is bitching, but no Persuadertron? No most-iconic-weapon-in-the-history-of-the-game?

Ok, I am fine with that. If the replacement mechanic works as advertised. If it doesn't, and I am waiting until the user reviews are out before buying the game anyways, it will be a second-hand purchase only.

Breaching civilians with "Persuade" is exactly the same thing except it doesn't sound like it was invented in the 50's.

Buddy I'm gonna give you some advice: That is the dumbest thing you could possibly do. User reviews are the worst reviews. They are not objective, they are not intelligent, they are idiots with an internet connection. Do you know how many times people write in they're own score because hey don't like the site's rating system? Way too many! One dude said a game deserved a 5 but he graded on a 4 point scale so he gave it a 4!

You want the best way to go about this? Find a reviewer that shares your tastes. He's out there somewhere and almost always if he likes something, you'll like something just because you're similar people. Also it's not luck based on whether or not a game is worth full price.

Is "Persuade" mind control mechanic too? I'm not up to latest news tongue But yeah, gotta agree that Persuatron is silly name.

Well, 'breaching' is. "Breaching" is essentially mind hacking, or normal hacking. You see something you want to Breach, you breach it with whatever you have equipped. So say you want a guy to get a taste of his gun, use suicide. Want someone to help you out? "Persuade". Got a turret? I guess hack I didn't really read the HUD during that part.

So anyway, now that I have played Syndicate... Well, it slightly hasn't aged well, but it still is a fun game. I wonder if sequel has aged bit more well....

So anyway, this reboot takes place in 2069. Original Syndicate is in 2070. Downer Ending? Then again, Eurocorp was VERY small(forgot manual reason) in beginning of original game so perhaps protagonist of this game succeeds in defeating the corporation just for it to rise again tongue

I have to admit one thing: the promo remixes are PHAT BANGERS. Skrillex's mix is the best of the three available now (the other two are by Digitalism and Flux Pavilion), but they have one more to unveil.

I like the Flux pavillion one the most. Skrillex was great up until it became another dubstep song. WUB WUB WUB

Anyhoo, while I hate making strategy/tactic games into action games, at least this one seems to be based on the series unlike certain another one tongue I was surprised to learn that main char's look is actually how agents look like in first game..

The demo came out recently, at least on X Box. Rather than the single-player we've been seeing so much, it's for co-op. I have to say, I enjoyed what I've seen so far. It's one mission, but it does the "work as a team or lose horribly" bit pretty well. There's no actual cover system, which should please some people. "Breaching" is a bit of a "do everything" button; depending on what you're pointing at, it can heal or revive teammates, disable grenades, activate switches, disable enemy shielding, etc. There are some out-of-mission carryovers from the original: winning missions and performing a finisher on special enemies will get you points to spend for weapon and chip blueprints; once you've got a blueprint, the thing you got it for can then be researched, and research will progress while you are out on missions. While not implemented in this demo, as far as I can tell, it also seems that you will be able to choose a syndicate to join, and specifically you can invite not only friends into your game, but also syndicate members; perhaps it is a clan system?

In short, though it may only carry the name and the ghost of Syndicate, it seems decent enough from this demo, especially the co-op. Anybody else played the demo yet?

So it's basically just a more shooty version of Deus Ex? I'm disappointed, I was hoping they'd try to add in the strategy elements that the first game had.
