Good work. Someone has to make the internet, if not the world, aware of these Corporate Neo-Fascists!!
I'm sure Fox News generates a lot of buzz. A more neutral title would net you a better conversation though. A Detractor Nickname will just get posters who agree with you.
I'm trying to go into devil's advocate mode, but the best I can come up with is "It wasn't so bad before the 2008 elections" and "MSNBC is almost, but not quite, as bad".
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Changed the title because that joke stopped being funny long ago, if it ever was.
I hope we'll be seeing some better discussion here than just "what a bunch of fascists" "yup".
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffOn quite a few occasions they've reported on things that other networks deliberately cover up. Like the ACORN voter fraud, Rathergate, and the Black Panthers being deliberately let off the hook for voter intimidation by Obama's Department of Justice.
and other times theyve ran hilariously sensationalistic stories thast pervert facts as far as they can be bent just to slam liberals. Hell. the only reason theyd care about the above listed stories is its an opportunity to bash liberals.

And they've also deliberately lied about a lot of things. For instance, this past year, during the Madison protests, they used footage of protesters getting violent.
Thing is, this was March in Wisconsin, a very cold time, while the video they showed to "Illustrate" was of people in shorts and wifebeaters, with palm trees in the background.
They also manipulate videos, such as the recent Jimmy Hoffa speech, where they completely removed the context of the line "Lets get these sons of bitches."
They also had their own anchors acting as ralliers at the Teaparty rally, IE they were the ones directing the crowds. Further, they reported that there were "millions" of people at the Glenn Beck teaparty rally in DC, when there was maybe several thousand.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FrySeveral Thousands stupid ass people!
They've reported on needed to be reported on stories and lied other times.
So they're basically like any other news network.

The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated.I completely disagree that they are like other news networks. They are caught lying more than other networks, and typically have the most misinformed audiences out of all news networks. Politifact rates a great deal of what they say as false, and they have won the award for Lie of the Year several times.
Another thing, they lied about the box office takings for the Atlas Shrugged movie, which bombed. Fox anchors insisted that it was doing quite well.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryI know that they're not allowed to broadcast in canada, it's against their laws to lie or intentionally mislead on a "news" broadcast.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Its allowed for people to receive transmissions from Fox, but what was banned was a branch of Fox news for Canadian news.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryWhen the news is not related to politics and is a slow news day kind of story they are ok. Sometimes they find some interesting news bits. Their articles that have credits due to other sources like Ap are ok sometimes.
Anything else I wouldn't trust them.
Who watches the watchmen?Fox News can't even get their facts straight on a slow news day.
According to Fox News Flower is environmentalist propaganda brainwashing our children!
Major Tom (courageous devil's advocate as he is) has mentioned some news stories Fox exposed and others (I assume, not being in the US) didn't cover. Why is that? Trying to make that question as neutral as possible!
Thorn: and I'm glad they did - Flower is a great game and it deserves all the extra advertising it will net from the story :) And no love/hate for From Dust?
Oh please, you guys sometimes inflate this to the point of a hyperbole. They aren't as bad as you make them out to be, but they really could use some work.
As a matter of fact, every 24 hour news service needs work. They all act like this is some brand new thing and whatever is going on is the worst thing ever. We've been through these issues before.
The short version is because all major news stations care more about pandering to their audience than the actual news.
Actual news doesnt get as many views as carefully editing out even slight evidence your viewpoint on the world is occasionally wrong. because people hate being told the world isnt the way they believe it is.

I'd argue its Fox News inflating issues that strike true to Fox's conservative bias, which others may not find to be a major issue.
(The ACORN voter fraud thing is blown extremely out of proportion.)
I disagree, I think they are pretty stupid, or at least the people they GET ON THEIR SHOW.

I don't know about everything Tom's describing, but I did look up ACORN. The video in question was heavily edited, and it was later determined that no crime was actually committed.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something Awful^ And yet in Nevada, ACORN got the book thrown at them for the very thing.

Rathergate was a legit story, but it was prior to the 2008 election, which, as I said, was when Fox really got crazy.
The Black Panther thing was also a legitimate story, but it's only fair to point out that the print media also covered it (I don't know if the networks did because I don't watch much TV news.)
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.I'm not sure a 5k fine constitutes getting the book thrown at.
Right, to some news stations, the ACORN thing could just be a side note on the bottom scroll. Fox news turned it into BREAKING WORLD CHANGING NEWS.

^ It is when the 5000 was the maximum legal limit for the offense in Nevada.
Well, someone asked and they shall receive.
A thread for discussing this hilarious mockery of a news network.
If they do something, thus, we don't have to have a million threads on separate instances.
