That is pretty much their relationship, hopefully a less destructive iteration this time.
So is Howard a Stepford Smiler or just kinda naive?
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Yeah it's strange, maybe it's just not wanting to get hurt. Which I guess falls under Stepford Smiler.
Or he's the dog in a room of fire, saying it's fine, because that's the life he knows.
Howard comes off as kind of dim most of the time. If the grandfather isn't physically abusive, he might genuinely not have noticed. This is a kid who greets his sister by yelling "Game of Thrones", and wanders into random dorm rooms to try and find HBO after all and latches on to really stupid ideas and doesn't let go.
It's kind of difficult to tell so far, but it seems that the abuse might be the "excessive control" type where there's no freedom of action because he "knows what's best for you".

Not Three Laws compliant. And no one in the environment cares, and Howard is clueless about tampons.
Notice the Slipshine ad.
Who's that she's meant to be with?
In the ad? Dorothy, I think.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. He answered a question about why he drew Joyce and Dorothy on Tumblr ("I just watch as the Devil moves my hand") and I didn't get it until I saw the Slipshine promo.
Fresh-eyed movie blogIt's apropos that the first porn of a non-canon couple he's drawn is on April Fools
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Probably is

Pre-med is basically the same, from what I remember
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Sarah clearly doesn't know how to conversation. It's cool, I don't know how to conversation either.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself. No she really doesn't. Also Joyce you shouldn't try to memorize your roommates schedule on the desk. Well the fact they have different lack of social skills even things out right? (Probably not).
Thought these would be cool to share.
First there's these redesigns he did for the Walkyverse Joyce, Sal (complete with Cable arm) and Head Alien.
And then there's these designs he did for the Ultra Car cartoon for the next bonus strip. I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be DJ Wilcox, but I'm not sure who Jess is supposed to be.
I'm hoping Willis will do another sci-fi series in the future. It's Walky! was a masterpiece.

I can get behind that. I always wanted to read Its Walky but it's too rough around the edges for my tastes. I did love the leftover bizarre elements in Shortpacked.
Just noticed the current book's title, and now I'm wondering if it's a Shout-Out to Jonathan Coulton's "I Crush Everything":
I can't be the thing I was before
Maybe I am better off alone
Because I crush everything
And I crush everything
And I crush everything

Joyce thinks very... romantically?
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.
We can be dysfunctional together
