Ok holding the hair like that really doesnt show the trope.... uhh only miss Sex Hair Kaoru from Amagami SS comes to mind... [1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊ [4]◊ [5]◊ [6]◊
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Not bad...I was thinking something along the lines of Michelle Rodreguiz, but that might fall under another trope entirely.
Cher Degre◊ from Wolfs Rain has always been the first example that pops into my head when I think of this trope.
From the page itself:
Edit: While I'm at it, how about a screencap from Terminator 2?

I'm having a hard time seeing the trope in those pictures, and the youtube doesn't exist.
How's this◊ pic of Helena Bonham Carter?
Pretty good, though I think we could stand to aim for something higher-quality...
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartSame image of 7 but smaller and less pixelated.◊
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickMuch better.
I vote for the Helena Bonham Carter image.
(The youtube link works from here - it's Sarah Connor in her cell)

Voting for Ms. Carter. Also, the youtube link shows a copyright claim for me.
Helena Bonham Carter *is* this trope.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.I'm gonna pull the YMMV card just because I can.
I see the unkempt part, but the beauty is lost to me....
Seriously though, I've got no objections to it, but I think it'd be neat to show the trope in different mediums, such as real life and animated.
The only photos in the thread where the woman isn't obviously wearing makeup is the Summer Glau ones.
Helena Bonham Carter has pink blusher, black mascara and pink shiny lipstick (or, at the very least, lipgloss).
Same thing with the current picture: blusher, black mascara, obvious lipstick. Looks like a little bit of eyeshadow, too.
The first Summer Glau pic looks pretty good, though, if we could crop the image to just show her.
How about none? You're just not going to find a photo of a star that isn't made up.
All right, let's give GIS a shot.
Helena Bonham Carter: Bellatrix◊, Mrs. Lovett 1◊, Mrs. Lovett 2◊ (As a side note, the makeup for her Lovett getup works - it's made to make her look even more unkempt with bags, pale skin, etc.)
Evangaline Lilly as Kate: 1◊, 2 (scaled down, you can't see the makeup that well)◊, 3◊, 4◊
Summer Glau as River: 1◊, a Firefly screencap, and a crop of that second potato sack picture:

And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know.Picture #4 above has my vote.

Unkempt is a scale. Or rather, Kempt is a scale. Which is good because it's not a word. You can drag yourself out of a mud puddle, tweeze your eyebrows, line your lips and still look like you just dragged yourself out of a mud puddle.
Say, does anyone have any unkempt pictures of Taylor Swift? If anyone does, then the issue is settled.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Ready for a crowner yet?
First, we see if anyone has an unkempt Taylor Swift picture. Then we can have a crowner.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I vote crowner time. If you really feel that strongly about an unkempt picture of Taylor Swift, find one. It shouldn't be too hard.
And yeah, Raso was totally right, I was going in the wrong direction. Oh well.
And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know. This and this are the best I got. This one could also come in handy.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I love Amber Benson, almost as much as Willow does. However I'm wondering if maybe there might be a slightly...messier pic perhaps, that would demonstrate the trope better.
