Needs a better image?: Unkempt Beauty

I love Amber Benson, almost as much as Willow does. However I'm wondering if maybe there might be a slightly...messier pic perhaps, that would demonstrate the trope better.

Not bad...I was thinking something along the lines of Michelle Rodreguiz, but that might fall under another trope entirely.

Cher Degre◊ from Wolfs Rain has always been the first example that pops into my head when I think of this trope.

I'm gonna pull the YMMV card just because I can.

I see the unkempt part, but the beauty is lost to me....

Seriously though, I've got no objections to it, but I think it'd be neat to show the trope in different mediums, such as real life and animated.

The only photos in the thread where the woman isn't obviously wearing makeup is the Summer Glau ones.

Helena Bonham Carter has pink blusher, black mascara and pink shiny lipstick (or, at the very least, lipgloss).

Same thing with the current picture: blusher, black mascara, obvious lipstick. Looks like a little bit of eyeshadow, too.

The first Summer Glau pic looks pretty good, though, if we could crop the image to just show her.

How about none? You're just not going to find a photo of a star that isn't made up.

Unkempt is a scale. Or rather, Kempt is a scale. Which is good because it's not a word. You can drag yourself out of a mud puddle, tweeze your eyebrows, line your lips and still look like you just dragged yourself out of a mud puddle.

Say, does anyone have any unkempt pictures of Taylor Swift? If anyone does, then the issue is settled.

First, we see if anyone has an unkempt Taylor Swift picture. Then we can have a crowner.

I vote crowner time. If you really feel that strongly about an unkempt picture of Taylor Swift, find one. It shouldn't be too hard.

And yeah, Raso was totally right, I was going in the wrong direction. Oh well.
