Since the whole point is that it's too long, I vote for no picture. I don't see how to illustrate a fight animation that lasts too long.

One way that we could do this is like the pic on Leave the Camera Running, where we have three or four static pics of the animation with timers in the corner showing at what point in the animation the pic was taken.

How about Knights of the Round from Final Fantasy VII? We don't have to make it too big, just clearly over a dozen small pictures each showing the different knights attacking, and the caption assuring us that it's all on the same summon.
