Well I'm looking forward to it.
I only heard of this movie yesterday. It seems like it could be interesting, from what I saw of the trailer and understand of the premise. It's impressive seeing Dr. Eggman and Bowser and Zangeif all together in a Disney movie, of all things. Kind of like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, they got multiple competing companies to allow their characters to appear together.
I also like the idea of a character from an old-fashioned cartoon-themed game trying out for a modern first-person shooter and being shocked at how much games have changed. If this movie has a good story and puts in good jokes, including jokes about games and the industry, it could be a lot of fun.
Anyone else reminded of Kid Radd? It's like if the protagonist was Gnarl instead of Radd.
I have a message from another time...I'll definitely keep an eye on this movie. It seems very neat!
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Hmm, I'm rather pessimistic about the movie.
I mean, by what chance it will be love letter to video games in same sense as Roger Rabbit movie was love letter to cartoons? Its probably just Disney trying to be cool by cameoing video games without doing research anyway to know much about them. I mean, Zangief is "bad guy" again for some reason Even if that can be justified, I'm still kind of skeptical.

This isn't going to end well.
Not the movie. The movie will be fine. The fan bitching about minute errors in lore is something I could do without, though.
And I trust that these will occur... they just won't matter to the vast majority of people.
The Zangief thing... really, who cares?
Some people have theorized that Zangief is in the support group because he's often portrayed as a villain. I doubt Disney is going to explain it that way though, or even, at all.
Like I said(edited last post), I don't actually care about Zangief thing, I'm worried about how much makers of this movie actually care about the fact its about video games
Me neither. Just something I noticed someone added to the page, which I fear will be flooded with Did Not Do The Research examples added by Douchey Mcnitpicks by the end of November.
Really though, nitpickers are annoying but it is good to be somewhat vary of things
Makers of his movie seem to be doing great job with faithfulness of character designs, but thats not the point I was making. Its not about whether they get all facts wrong or not, its about that will movie in the end matter at all that its about video games? Its hard to explain what I mean... Well, Roger Rabbit movie had that Donald & Duffy Duck(or was it someone else? I don't remember, I haven't seen movie myself just heard other people talking about it) which from what I saw is pretty much what would happen if two met and did piano routine. Will the fact that movie is about video game matter in any other way than setting for movie and jokes and cameos? I'm pretty much concerned about how much makers are actually interested about video games
@Spooky- It always helps to be optimistic.
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked. How would they handle characters from Video Game adaptations?
Because Mickey Mouse and Scrooge Mc Duck have had a lot of video games.
Simple. They just won't include them, and won't question it.
I saw an entry on the Zangief thing on the page, but I think it was removed. It was what sparked my post, because even if it's not on this site I swear to god There Will Be Bitching.
But having a Zettai Ryouiki entry on a kid character? Tad bit creepy.
I added the film's page to my list when I just realized today that I DID NOT have it on there previously! There are some things that i do that even shock me.
@eternal Noob: My modus operandi is being pessimistic when everyone is optimistic and being optimistic when everyone is pessimistic
Ah, Gief. Will you ever shake the world's Dirty Communist slant?
Well, at least you're still PROTECTOR OF THE RUSSIAN SKIES!

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.By the way, there's a little retro Fix-It Felix Jr. flash game on the official website.
The Zangief thing to me is forgiveable, since the fact that Zangief even gets a brief speaking role is awesome in itself.
"Shake the dust." - Anis Mojgani^^Is there an end game for it or am I wasting time trying to find an ending cutscene that'll never appear.
I Ike how during the Spit Take in the bad-anon class, Bowser spits fireballs and Clyde goes up, down, left, right.
The little details.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceBut seriously, the arcade versions seen so far have a cutscene where Felix gets a medal, and Ralph gets thrown off the top of the building; a "win" screen, yes? The preview implies that this screen appears very frequently, but that's contrary to classic arcade logic, where every game invariably ends with the hero losing!
I suppose the alternative is that the full version of FIFJ has a set number of floors before you get that scene, but it's not the end of the game; it's just where it resets to the beginning, but you keep your score.
On my last try I got to level 65. How fast can those ducks get?

Is that ninja from Ninja Gaiden?
All right, so I spent a few games working out the rules of the 1-up pies, and now I can see how to better milk them for more points, in exchange for a more excruciatingly long game. For a while I thought the apartment residents stopped giving pies in-level after about level 5, but it turns out that's merely the point where they go from all of them having pies to only about half of them having pies. And it's almost never the first resident that has the pie, so if you have the patience, you can leave one window broken and wait for the second face that will give you a pie for that level, until about level 30, where I was finding they were starting to appear much too late in levels that were getting much too hectic. Sometimes you'll get as many as three faces in the windows, giving you one more pie, but that's really only something to hope for on the first few levels, where you don't have to worry about bricks breaking more windows and leaving you with no time left to finish.
Some more facts about the pies: Pies will not disappear simply by waiting too long, and you can have multiple pies left for you in a single level. However, pies will disappear if you are killed or if you finish the last window before you collect them; even if a pie is directly over Felix's head when he fixes that last window, he still won't collect it! I also discovered that you can indeed lose the game by waiting all 60.0 seconds on the 10th-level bonus screens where the only objective is to collect the two pies and there's no danger otherwise, so do remember the pause button if you need to take a break.
But now my attempts at bettering my score are being hindered by a random bug where Felix won't proceed to the next level although all the windows are repaired, and no attempt at searching for invisibly broken glass or fixing newly broken glass has ever saved me from time-over when it's happened so far. Has anyone figured out what causes this bug?

Since this is a film with a premise around nostalgic and current video games, I thought it would be appropriate to start a thread for it here as well as in the Western Animation section. There's not much to talk about right now, but I have a lot of WM Gs regarding what kinds of games and characters would appear in the film, and there will most likely be a video game based on the movie itself next year.
