I'm not saying "reason" as in "oh hey I want to get me some high even though I'll get addicted mhmmmmhm". I mean reason as in there is something in their life that is fundamentally wrong. There are just stupid ones, but from my experience most are actually suffering and drugs are just a way to relieve that. This is a rather personal topic for me, so I probably won't be posting about this much more.
"Delenda est." "Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed." -Common Roman saying at the end of speeches. You know, Savage, you changed my whole perspective on my position. How can I discourage self-determination?
Let's end the War on Drugs tomorrow. No regulation, little taxes. Business will boom! The new jobs will help the economy, and increased demand will create an overnight mega industry.
We can defund rehab programs—no rewarding poor choices, after all—and anti-drug programs for kids, too—bad for business. We'll have to drop those pesky anti-gun laws, too, to help people deal with the worst of the junkies.
OD treatment could go, too! Gotta live with that choice, after all.
Corporations could put it in our food, too! Condition us to buy more, and make us happier!
Soldiers could use it too, I guess. Heat of battle and all. So the poor and kids will die more? Who cares? We'll be rich! It's perfect!
I am now known as Flyboy.I am ethically completely fine with violating people's civil liberties by removing drugs from the picture entirely. However, as we do not live in La-La Land, the better solution seems to be to legalize higher quality (which one should not mistake for safe) substances to prevent what is happening with this drug.

And better than thy stroke; why swellest thou then?
USAF: hey man, no need to get snooty up in here. Let's keep things civil here.
Ironically? Who's being ironic? Self-determination is great! Those who make bad choices destroy themselves and make it worse for the rest of us.
Savage is right, I thought my morality was better. Not anymore. Might as well profit from others' stupidity while I'm at it.
I am now known as Flyboy. What about doing what Portugal's doing?
Give me cute or give me...something?I'm expecting this thread to be locky locked soon.
Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.USAF, you're being as much of a dick as savage was being. Please, lets try to keep this civil. Just because one person is being rude doesn't mean you have to be.
"Delenda est." "Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed." -Common Roman saying at the end of speeches.Savage, are you of the opinion that every human being understands at all times what is best for them?
And better than thy stroke; why swellest thou then?Savage called me out on my hypocrisy—self-determination versus "for their own good."
I'm tired of helping those who don't want it. I'm tired of good will rejected out of petty stubbornness. I tire of this world.
So why does it have to matter to me? I'm sixteen with everything to live for. If others want to ruin their lives, that's their business. The fact that we can make them pay us to do it is just a helpful bonus in these hard economic times.
I am now known as Flyboy.Oh, for god's sake. Offtopic, personal attacks flying back and forth, rudeness. Y'all hit the trifecta.
Locking.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Good, non-medical reasons for marijuana use? Smoking weed is pleasurable, not particularly harmful (comparable to having a few beers or smoking a few cigarettes in terms of harm), and it alleviates stress and anxiety.
For harder drugs, the reasoning might be similar, but it's not a very good idea anyway: Using any habit-forming drug you can OD on is generally inadvisable.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.
