The had toys?!
Seriously liberals, I really want to like you, Stop Being Stereotypical!
Just kidding, but man, why don't we let the parents decide?

Exactly, the parents don't have to buy the meals if they don't feel comfortable feeding their kids that. All this move is doing is ruining the fun for everyone.
Wait, they had toys?
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianAnyway, I really don't see the point of this. Nobody's forcing the parents to buy the kids meals that "don't meet the dietary requirements of their children". It's not like this move will really do much of anything.
KFC had toys? I really didn't know this.
"This thread has gone so far south it's surrounded by nesting penguins. " — MadrugadaI don't think KFC should be concerned with "bribing kids with toys" as much as it should with health and animal treatment. Also prices. They went way up.
Now using Trivialis handle.Maybe it's an Oz thing? I know KFC in the US hasn't even advertised kids meals, much less toys, in ages if ever.
online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comI guess the loss of income from ditching kids' toys accompanying kids' meals is less than having to change their food to become healthier.
"That said, as I've mentioned before, apart from the helmet, he's not exactly bad looking, if a bit...blood-drenched." - juancarlosKFC is shit anyways. Popeyes is much better.
We don't have popeyes here
hashtagsarestupidYou aren't missing anything. Popeye sucks.
Please.WHAT?! Depriving kids of childhood over such nonsense. Political Correctness Gone Mad, I say.
...I didn't know they had toys either, for the record...
I am now known as Flyboy. They do seem to have a problem with taking political correctness way too far.
I wonder if anyone will fight this, or just go "whatever, less random junk to throw away." I mean, it's not like it really matters, besides being a precedent-setter...

I am now known as Flyboy.Who cares? Fast-food toys suck anyway.
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt." - Some guy with a snazzy hat.Sure, but they're still a pretty basic part of modern childhood—at least in the US. I guess I don't really know if it's the same in the more Euro-stylized nations of the First World...
I am now known as Flyboy.According to the blip from the article, the parents were complaining and generally opposed to the idea. Now whether those parents are a vocal minority or not, I don't know. But the basic idea is, if I'm taking care of my kid, and they can at times me-frankly-a snotnosed little brat, I want to minimize the things that they're going to hassle me about.
I am pro ending toys with kids meals. Kids still have cereal boxes and any number of other ways of getting their collectibles, where they want the one that's OMFG uber rare...
What astounds me is that this is such a fundamentally bad business decision. The reason the parents want there to not be toys is because they want to be able to more easily not eat at these places. You can't say "the good PR will make up for it." These are people who don't want to eat at your shitty restaurant!

You're no fun, Tomu.
I am now known as Flyboy.Nonsense. I am loads of fun. Efficient fun. <Adjusts glasses>
I swear to god, Tomu, you're going to make me despise even writing the word "efficient" soon...
I am now known as Flyboy.Tomu@It's bad enough already that Disney cut its contract with Mc Donalds because it was fun having Disney Happy Meal Toys.Come to think of it only BK and Mc Donalds actually advertise their toys.
The fast food chain says it's the 'right thing to do' - to promote healthier eating...and put an end to so-called 'pester power'.
A recent survey shows most parents are against restaurants giving away toys to promote meals that may not meet the dietary requirements of their children.
The decision comes three years after KFC stopped advertising or promoting its kids menu.
KFC Corporate Affairs Manager, Zac Rich, said giveaway toys had been introduced during a very different era but the concept had now had its day. 'From KF Cs point of view it is definitely time to move on. We think the idea of toys being given away with meals has had its day and were pleased to be taking the lead in removing them,' he said.
'We hope this decision today will support parents in making dietary decisions on behalf of their children which arent influenced in any way by pressure to choose the meal that has a toy,' Mr Rich said.
Is any one here upset to see the old 'toys meals' go?[sad] I have fond memories collecting all four glow in dark dinosaurs
