This is awesome. I really enjoyed the first Epic Mickey, despite its flaws, and am totally looking forward to this. I have no problem with the game being a musical, because Disney's is usually really good at them, and playable Oswald is a huge plus.

Also, Power of Illusion is one more reason I need to get a 3DS.

TWO new Epic Mickey games?

One being a handheld tie-in to a classic SEGA platformer?

The other, the actual sequel, being a two-player musical that promises to fix all the camera problems?

And hints at a thid in planning development that stars just Oswald?

....Disney sure has alot of faith in this franchise, and I am definately not complaining!

Hmmm. With Power of Illusion being a sequel to Castle of Illusion, what do you guys think the chances of Castle of Illusion being rereleased are?

Very slim, but it wouldn't be the first time a licensed game has been sold on the Wii Virtual Console—Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on NES was on the shop for a very long time before finally being removed in (some or) all regions. Castle of Illusion would be a nice promotional release if it actually came out.

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!

I did a bit of research, and apparently Disney reregistered the Castle of Illusion trademark back in late September 2011, so take that as you will.

Also, a Third game starring Oswald? Yes please!

Proper Press Release for Power of Illusion with a basic plot outline. The Castle of Illusion itself is trapped in Wasteland and Mizrabel's not taking that sitting down.

a) The painting mechanic sounds awesome. I wasn't going to get this, but I am seriously reconsidering now. b) Of course the Castle of Illusion is in Wasteland! THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!

Anyone else think they should have an Old Save Bonus on the Wii version? See how the choices of the first game played out, a starting bonus to Health, Paint and Thinner reserves, and E-Tickets maybe?

So I checked out the Nintendo Magezine issue with the Power of Illusion article, and it acually had an article on Power of Two also, conaining some new info, so I thought I'd post the new info here:

  • There are train stations in each hub, which, if repaired, will allow for quick access between hubs.
  • There's a new type of sketch, the fairy sketch, which causes things to temporarily levitate.
  • The Dahl Enginering Coriders were assembled by the gremlins to act as connecting levels between places because an earthquake knocked the 2d projectors out, and they act like giant Rube Goldberg machines.
  • The 2d projectors will be restored later in the game, and will be changed a bit to accomodate co-op.
  • Combining Mickey's paint/thinnerattack with Oswald's electricity will increase the power of the paint/thinner attack.
  • There will be griefing.

Also WANT.

So... they brought in the corridor from Walt Disney World and made segments around the concept?

Damn. XD

Footage.

I should probably mention that it's Power of Illusion footage, since we've already seen Power of Two footage.

Some stuff was shown on Spike/Gametrailers E3 coverage just now.

The Old Mill is one of the transition levels and one of the boss battles is the Main Street Electrical Parade float of Elliott

[up] It's kinda nice to hear the Mad Doctor sing again.

Still. I wouldn't trust him that easily.

But then, I'm not a toon.

Why do I get the feeling that this is an Xanatos Gambit on the Mad Doctor's part? After all, he did say he wanted someone with a heart, and we know Mickey still has one....

The intro is nice, but I can't help but feel the song could be.. bigger, and more energic. You know, have the towns people join in the song, or have the Mad Doctor's robots march around the town square. I just feel the song could be grander, though it's fine as it is.

The Mary Blair style cutscenes look fantastic, though.

[up][up] Nearly all of the scenes they showed with that artstyle were from the original game.

Does anyone know if the footage they're showing is the Wii, or PS 360 version?
