Well, "In Praise of Women" fits - you've got this manly-man chauvinist pig, and it's got that high F money note in it.

I don't know "In Praise of Women" but "Razzle Dazzle 'Em" or "C'est Moi" are also both big bombastic songs — "C'est Moi" is about as close to Gaston as you can get.

Yeah, I'd go with "C'est Moi" or "In Praise of Women." I lean slightly more towards the latter because it's closer to Gaston's vocal range - he's got a few high Fs, notably in the middle and at the end of "Me," as well as a brief high passage in the Mob Song ("It's time to follow me."). I don't know where else he goes that high, though.

You could type your vocal range - C4 is middle C. Example:
Typical bass range is E2-E4, typical baritone range is G2-G4, typical tenor range is A2-A4. Gaston's range, I believe, is A2-F4. Same range as the Beast, if I'm not mistaken.
If "In Praise of Women" is too daunting, I'd suggest "All I Care About." Same range as Gaston, and it has a high F near the end, but it's just once, as opposed to "In Praise of Women," which has them all over the place. In addition, you sorta slide up to it in that one and can choose to take it as long or short as you want, and even if you mess up, there's still the E-flat right after it that you can recover on.

Depends on what your voice range is. Captain Hammer's range is a lot lower than Dr. Horrible's.

If you're a baritone, you should probably go with "Everyone's a Hero" both because it would probably fit your range and because it's a chance to be a Large Ham.

Actually, Horrible's music is lower than Hammer's. Horrible's top note is an F-sharp in "My Eyes," while Hammer has that big "WAAAAAY" on a high G-flat.

"Greased Lightnin'" might work, albeit slightly overdone. It's in Orin's range and style, more or less - rock song for a baritone. Maybe "Luck Be a Lady" would be a suitable song, too.

I'd stay away from Greased Lightnin', because the script specifically states that actors playing Orin should not take inspiration from Grease.

OK. So my Thesbian Troupe is doing Beauty and the Beast. I know this may sound a bit ambitious but I want to be GASTON.
What songs would work best in this case? I would do a Sweeny or other Sondheim work usually but the ones I know are much darker than Gaston's Large Ham.
