I know we just had another thread on this, but the winner only won by a few votes, and there are some notable flaws with it:

You do have a good point in that she doesnt look happy. But because of the Oscar in her hands it seems pretty clear (to me at least) that she is happy. I think we should keep the picture, unless someone here shows a better one.

[up] You rely on readers recognizing an oscar when they see one, AND on them concluding she is GETTING the award, instead of being required to give it up for whatever reason.

I actually agree, she honestly just looks really upset, not happy...

It's better, but it's kind of goofy-looking.

I prefer either the Clannad or the Luna/Celestia one from the other thread. (The former is stated in the other thread's crowner to not make the "tears" part clear, but I say they're much more obvious in the Clannad one than in the Miss World one.)

Those ones LOST. You can't just keep shoving them in threads until they win. That's not how this works. If you want to make a new thread, you need to suggest things that are better than anything in the old thread. Not just because you have sour grapes.

Clannad was at 0 — 8 people thought it was good, 8 people thought it was bad. Luna and Celestia was at -2. You may think that they're better, but not enough people agreed with you.

Sure it does. But she did not make this topic. Ferret guy did. He made it pretty much to complain. This happens about once a week. I mean if Ferret guy came to bat with that pic, sure it is a valid one, but no. He came here to complain something he was against won.

This bugs me.

Please.

[up] Pettiness or lack thereof aside, the idea that the picture isn't the best is valid... or at least, I think so.

Just because the OP didn't give the picture doesn't mean that the picture given isn't superior, and certainly doesn't mean we can't use it...

I agree the suggested pic is superior, and if he had found such a pic, or any pic there would be a valid reason for opening a thread, but as it stands this place is extremely saturated with pending threads, a large portion of which never get resolved and are eventually locked. Opening a thread because you are not content with the fact that it won is extremely bad form.

With that said,

Motion to replace current pic with picture of Miss World winner

Reasons: It show a better example of happiness than the current image.

Look, he started with a valid statement; the current picture is not great.

The results of the previous crowner indicate that no one was particularly enthused any of the pictures suggested, the Halle Berry one incuded. It was the only one with a positive tally and it only had a two vote margin out of 20 votes cast on it. And that makes a piss-poor ratio: 1.22:1.

Arguably, based on the crowner, the page should have been left pictureless.

So, we start again.

As long as we throw out all the images ruled out by the previous crowner, I don't mind a fresh round.

[up][up][up] At that point, do we even need a crowner? Unless opposition shows up...

[up] Not when there is only the one image. I just meant another round of the thread. If we get more options, then there's room for a vote.

If you have any other questions about Image Pickin and the TRS please feel free to ask or PM me.
