I didn't even realize half the stuff about Tobuscus that happens off-camera. It's a shame really; I never knew he was such a douche. Still, I'm assuming innocent until proven guilty, simply because I take Tumblr confessions (or just about anything on Tumblr) with a grain of salt.

Also, has Jacksfilms commented on this scandal at all? He seemed like he was pretty good friends with Toby a while back.

Dang. A few other things that have popped up (that aren't mentioned in the De Franco video):

People found this footage from a couple of years ago of Toby on a livestream. The guy in the video with him has said that he supports the people coming forward, and that "Due to an NDA [he] can't speak specifics, but Toby is a much different person off camera."

Matthew Mercer (the voice actor), says that "Having spent many a party at Toby's place, had him grab and lick my GF's face while on E, I'm open to hear her." ("Her" being the accuser).

A recent ex-girlfriend of Toby's, Melanie Murphy, has also released a video basically saying that he relationship with him was always consensual, but that she left when she felt it was becoming "toxic and destructive". She's also requested that people not form mobs attacking either party.

So let me get this straight: this Toby guy has become the Bill Cosby of the internet?

I will admit there's more and more evidence showing that at the very least, he is in need of psychological aid. However, while I wouldn't want to know him in real life, he shouldn't be a pariah (thus essentially ending any possibility of him getting the help and support he likely needs) unless there is concrete evidence. This is just my personal opinion though. You are free to disagree.

I agree with what Melanie Murphy said, pretty much. Don't get out the pitchforks and start harassing either party- leave it for the courts to look at. If I still watched Toby's videos nowadays, personally I'd probably stop watching them though.

Can we back up to where Wave did the exact thing s/he was complaining about.

I will admit I never was a fan of Tobuscus but I will keep an eye on this....

I agree with wave. Some of the stuff I have been hearing suggests that Toby probably needs professional help (with drugs if that is true and maybe some of the problems he has underlying his personality) more then to be harassed.

On the other hand the other side shouldn't be harassed either. We don't know if they are right, wrong, or somewhere in the middle.

Going through my previous posts, I feel that I need to clarify what I meant, I did not mean anything I said as an accusation against the people making the claims of rape. All I was doing was pointing out that there is room for doubt. If I have to choose a side, either Toby or his alleged victims, I'd choose to stand with his victims, if only because of the power difference between them.

However, I believe that no situation is completely black and white. All I was doing was pointing out that there is room for doubt. And as long as there is, he doesn't deserve to have his life ruined over it.

No but if he looses brand deals, partnerships and similar opportunities due to the (confirmed from multiple sources at this point) fact that he's a creepy, emotionally abusive, serial cheater, drug addict who doesn't respect personal space, that he kinda does deserve.

There's plenty of reasons to dislike the guy and not want to give him money without even looking at the rape accusation. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the situation was a case where he thought he had consent but didn't, that happens, some people don't understand consent. I once knew a guy (actually multiple guys) who didn't realise that drugging your drunk girlfriend who's said nobody should have sex with her and then having sex with her, was a violation of consent.

I haven't heard any new news since the whole incident began but it appears Toby has taken Defranco's advice and is seeking help for his bad habits.

That's at least admirable that he's not publicly getting defensive about it. Too many internet celebs just seem to completely self-destruct due to things like that (e.g. Spoony).
