Just seen his literal trailers. I laughed. Big Time.
(Sadly, I was supposed to be doing work. I am now in trouble. Big Time.)
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Yep, I'm watching his Amnesia playthrough and I've been watching his LA Noire one. Tobuscus is awesome. I wish he could do more literal trailers. The thing I like about him is that his channels are sort of like TV shows, and how funny he is of course.
I love his "Cute Win Fails" and literal videos.
byeI found some of his older material the other day. The Lighter and Softer claim is quite true; it looks like he tried Darker and Edgier first and it didn't work out.
I also find myself somewhat very envious of a guy who can (apparently) make a living through You Tube, just by being an ubergeek. It's pretty amazing, frankly. Oh, and truckloads of creativity.
His Assassins Creed Brotherhood Literal Trailer has what, 12 million views? That's astounding.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Double-posting. I wasn't all that hot on his Assassins Creed Revelations Literal Trailer at first but now that I've been listening to it a lot, the melody has really grown on me. Of course I know that it's in the original trailer, but what he did with it makes it awesomely creepy. I love minor keys. And then there's the Call-Back to the AC:B Literal Trailer at the end, which must have been good for a lot of laughs besides mine.
Anyone going to PAX and planning to see his performance? I wish I could go but Seattle is quite a haul.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"In the interest of keeping this thread vaguely alive, who has listened to Toby's latest single, "Nugget in a Biscuit"? It's pretty funny, but what I can't figure out is why he thinks that a one minute song consisting of the same verse repeated twice is worth a 99c download on iTunes... except that I bought it. So who, exactly, is the sucker here?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"If you can't tell who the sucker is, it's you.
...
...
...
That is all.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.The song is worth 99 cents because it's catchy, and the money goes to a good cause. That cause being buying a new computer to replace the one that died. A moment of silence. ... MOMENT OVER!
I first saw his videos for Amnesia: Justine after reading about Justine here. When the Skyrim page linked to his Literal Trailer, I recognized his subscribe theme and checked out his channels. Coincidence? That TV Tropes would send me his way twice? The only explanation is that it was destiny. Or maybe black magic, but we all know that don't exist.
I finally finished his Amnesia: TDD playthrough. God, it was equal parts utterly hysterical and completely terrifying.
"Monsters, c'mon, I'm not scared of yo-OH GOD OH GOD SON OF A MONKEY AAAAAUGH!!!!!"
Toby vlogged the other day about a TV commercial that's using some of his Literal Trailer material. That's going to be awesome and I seriously hope I get to see it on You Tube once it appears.
Also, I had to laugh when I saw that he's posting a Words with Friends "playthrough". How pathetic is that? But I watched it...
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"And now it seems that Zynga dinged him for a copyright violation for his Farm Ville parody. How long ago was that? Seriously...
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The Farm Ville parody was the first video I ever saw done by this guy.
I don't think I ever watched it. I'm sad now.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So did he just drop doing literal trailers?
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? No, he said they take a month or more to produce and he has to get permission from the copyright holder to do them. His last one was for Shark Night or whatever the heck it's called, so he's still on schedule I think. Oh, and in last night's vlog he said Zynga rescinded their copyright warning on the Farm Ville parody. So hey, a win for free speech!
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"From his description of it, it sounds like a Game Stop ad for AC:Revelations. Should be awesome.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"New Hot Symphony, set to the Star Wars Imperial March. Awesome. (That may not be the right link; I had to look it up from Google 'cuz I can't get to You Tube from work.)

The Revelations Literal TV spot will be showing on Monday. Someone had damn well better record it and post it on You Tube.
Also, apparently he's doing a promo thing for APB Reloaded where if enough people sign up using his referral link, they'll put a Tobuscus tattoo in the game. I love it. I'm completely uninterested in the game, but it sounds cool.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Here it is~
I saw it when he posted it on Tobuscus. Not as epic as I was hoping, but what can you really do with a 30 second spot?
Oh, and the Kids React series did an episode on him. I'd never heard of it before now, but it's kind of neat. He's the #28th most subscribed poster on You Tube? Holy crap!

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"VLAD-ED!
Best part of that video XD
I found Toby Turner, aka Tobuscus through searching for Let's Plays of Portal 2 on You Tube and was instantly hooked. I was also amazed to find out that we have an article on him.
I've been following his LP's of F.E.A.R. 3 and Duke Nukem Forever, and in recent days I've branched out to his "Cute Win Fail" series, his vlogs, and his Literal Trailers.
What's more, I got my wife hooked on "Cute Win Fail" last night. That's an accomplishment in and of itself given her general disdain for gaming-related media. Anyone else here a fan? The guy is side-splittingly funny.
