Oh, in said military exersice, a soldier died in a accident...

And yet Maduro said it was a total success. If his intention was showing the world the ineptitude of the venezuelan army, then yeah, sure...

And there was a oil spill (again) yesterday on Monagas, we still don't know if it will affect the water supply, but it probably will. Not a great time for PDVSA with this and the spanish bank scandal.

So apparently, the Ministry of Education is demanding some schools to demand the parents and students to write and submit letters to Obama saying don't mess with Venezuela!?

A friend of mine just showed me a notice from a school for such, signed and sealed.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

^^ In general, that someone dies during a military exercise is not necessarily a sign of incompetence (or even malice, at that). People can and have died or been severely injured during normal training routines (not Training from Hell, just regular exercises) in spite of precautions taken against casualties, and have happened to everyone from "fresh from boot camp" recruits to people with a decade or so of experience under their belt.

[up]Yeah, but the corcumstances seems so avoidable that I can only think incompetence was the cause. And well the fact that the govermentor any news belonging to them haven't reported it just makes me angry.

[up][up] What's the point if is obvious that they're obliging the kids to do it, and with proof of that?

Are all schools obliged to do this or only the publics ones? I still need to see one of those notices.

Ok, never mind, I finally saw one of those demands from a school I used to go. What got my attention was: "... and the students can make a drawing againts Obama too."

Wow, never imagined we would fall so low.

There's also a video in youtube from Nicolas Maduro son drunk dancing while being trown dolars at hIm. And the user was demanded by youtube to pit it down in 48 hours.

I read something about the CNE trying to illegalize COPEI does anybody know something? My guess is that It's a retaliation because of them talking about the government having money outside.

Illegalize the opposition huh, I think this hasn't happened ever since the Pérez Jiménez years.

Betancourt had the Communist Party of Venezuela outlawed after they raised up in arms against him (figures...). Also the reds pretty much tried to destroy Popular Will last year (and who knows if they succeeded in neutering it) with the arrest warrants against four of its top leaders (Leopoldo, Daniel Ceballos, Antonio Rivero and Carlos Vecchio).

[up] Well they had it coming...

Not without good reason, they are the ones taking the most lead on the streets while it looks like the rest of the MUD is ok to just survive with the regime. They are doing their best to organize protets and motivate people for the elections. I hope Daniel Ceballos is released.

When I talked about it with a teacher of mine he told me something similar.

"Yo era adolescente cuando cayó Pérez Jiménez, pero me impresionó al punto de aún recordarlo, que en un comunicado del gobierno, decía que en la conspiración estaban involucrados "miembros del extinto partido Acción Democrática". Creo que la "extinción" estaba algo exagerada. Me temo que el gobierno de hoy, también descubrirá, que deseos no preñan."

Yeh. I feel the oranges are the ones doing the most, or at least they're the ones that are willing to risk the most to face the reds. Also they hold internal direct elections for their party positions.

If I ever end up joining a political party, chances are it's going to be them, I'm not as courageous as them but I want to help out.

The authorized dollars for traveling have been greatly reduced, I think this will screw up business for a lot of people. This is karma I guess.

Ironically I've been traveling with my family a lot recently through the neightborhood (currently in Argentina) and I've found people being very empathic and giving us their support. It really helps knowing it. I hope we can go back on the right track.

Edit: I'm glad the sanctions against members of the government will continue. "We are not interested in changing the Cuban regime." G Obama why am I not surprised? :3

Man, he must be really hoping for a US president that he can just outright villainize. If it turns out the richest, whitest, most Sarah Palinesque (but male) Republican candidate for the White House has been receiving covert funding from Venezuela, I wouldn't be too surprised :)

Looks like Daniel Ceballos already made his mind. He won't let Vielma Mora get away with the SEBIN getting inside the mayor's office to intimidate his wife.

"I call the workers of the San Cristobal's mayor's office and the tachiran people to be together and strong. We will be free and prosperous! Vielma Mora, this is between you and me, don't hide behind a judge, come here to Ramo Verde and let's fix this like men."

Vielma Mora se la jugo, ahora vienen los coñazos.

It's good to know the chilean and the colombian congress are giving us their support.

It still amazes me the control the Chávez regime had in south américa, what could have happened if that guy didn't die? It gives me the creeps.
