[up]...That surely must be a joke.

(Checks the web for information and news to verify)

...Meh, can't say I'm surprised, that woman is crazy. Honestly, she and Delcy Rodriguez are the image of insanity that is present in the PSUV.

Ni de verga. ¡Que mujer mas loca!

On a more serious note, it looks like the PSUV might end up spliting in November into different parties because Maduro has been such a wonderful leader.

Huh, María Corina is among those who believe that oil prices going down is a good thing for the nation, which is not exactly the sort of thing a politician should be saying out loud.

Anyhow, Minister of State Terrorism and Peace Miguel Rodríguez Torres got destituted, presumably due to the CICPC vs. collectives thing (tl;dr: forensics police kill five paramilitaries of peace during a shootout, circumstances aren't clear). The new minister is Carmen Meléndez (former Minister of Defense), and Vladimir Padrino López is taking her place (the CEOFANB guy).

I don't like that, or the fact that terrorizing citizens is apparently the best you can do to get political consideration from the central government. At least Rodríguez Torres is out.

On a more serious note, it looks like the PSUV might end up spliting in November into different parties because Maduro has been such a wonderful leader.

Are they significant, though? The only ones I recognize are the idiots from Diarrea Socialista. It's nice that all eight of them will stop standing up for the government, but I doubt it'll matter.

See, that kind of statement is why the masses don't pull towards the opposition either. Whenever they say anything like this, what the common citizens read between the lines is 'We are expecting/hoping everyone falls into a horrible crisis until they are so hungry and desperate they push the government out for us so we can move in and take over!'

They are so desperate to look politically correct in the international landscape they don't have the guts to do what AD and others did during the Perez Jimenez years and outright say 'yes, we want to overthrow this government before things grow worse, and if we've got to go to jail, so be it, but that's only if they catch us'. Granted, those were far different times, but basically, what they are doing here is playing a waiting game to see people get so fucked up they'll revolt, and most people doesn't want to fall so low, to grow that hungry and desperate, in the first place. Especially when there's not even a sure guarantee of any sorts things will actually improve afterwards.

To be fair to María Corina, she's always been confrontational and prepared to become a target (such as earlier this year). If somebody is in a position to talk about revolts, it's... Leopoldo, but she's somewhere around there.

Of course, for every María Corina, there are a thousand Julio Borgeses.

[up][up]Pretty much, it's kind of sad to admit but if people really want opportunities or live their life as a decent human being at all then they have a better chance by leaving the country and facing the cultural clash than by placing their trust in the government and well, a shitload of people have given up and left already.

Maybe they are afraid. Let's say they overtrow the government. Some time later poeple will look back and see them with more sympathy just because they were overtrowed. Then next elections comes some asshole saying he is Chavez new son and we fall again in this situation. Can't blame them for not only being cautious and taking their time, and having that mentality, if it kills the reverence and idolitry that exists to Chavez.

As for the PSUV spliting, that would mean more competition between them and more chances of the opossition wining the parlament elections, no? How that wouldn't matter?

What I meant was that they're too few to cause a significant dent on PSUV's votes/affiliation. If I'm underestimating them or if they grow larger a year from now, all the better (or worse for the PSUV, whatever).

About the cautiousness thing, I hope you're right, but the whole thing is looking more and more like opportunism and co-habitation to me (that is, getting the most political credit out of the situation without taking personal risks).

It's kind of funny that Tintori and Leopoldo have been doing more to get people motivated into doing something (whatever it is) while being in jail than the rest of the opposition.

So, Minister Jaua Family went to Brazil in a PDVSA plane, and a family babysitter was arrested for posessing a weapon.

Does anyone think something will come from this? I certainly don't from the babysitter stuuf, but that J Aua has used a PDVSA plane for his own interest gotta bring something up. Well, the oppossition already accussed him, only time will tell if this government will be cynical enough to not do anything.

And yet, I find amusing he hasn't denied anything yet.

Elias was a right wing extremist spy all along.

...........

Anyway, Maduro himself broke the law in public when he mentioned details about Serra's "investigation" and the fact that "El Colombia" was a delinquent who the government had given a place in Mision Vivienda are also known facts. I can't tell what will happen but if they keep screwing up like this it's all the worse for their own image.

Also, all the files that were found in Jaua's briefcase are super creepy...

Huh, the fact that Maduro increased greatly the salaries for the FANB makes me uneasy. Today is the last day the collectives gave to Diosdado, so maybe they are just that desperate?

The army is getting fat juicy salary raises the whole time, or at least more than any other group. That's how they remain loyal lapdogs.

Um, well, that's pretty much just aknowledging the elephant in the living room.

I think what Venezuela really needs is someone daring to give a gigantic "The Reason You Suck" Speech in live TV or some other widespread medium to the (voting) population who keeps voting the chavism AND those who keep going along with it by inactivity default. It'd be political suicide, of course, so no one will ever do it anyway.

Pretty much, la guarimbera arguably only worked against the opposition in the long run, getting people killed and Leopoldo in jail. Voting is the best chance we have to get out of this regime since there is no way we can go against the FANB. And we have to beat them by a long margin because of the CNE, but of course, i don't see that happening any time soon.

I don't believe voting is useless, and I believe guarimbas (barricades for the uninitiate) and rioting in general were counterproductive, but I still believe peaceful civil resistance is our best chance to get out of this mess.

Does anybody know anything about the deal with Rosneft? supposedly Rusia will "buy" oil from Venezuela but the way i see it is this; Venezuela owns Rusia a lot of money, since we aren't getting enough funds because of the oil prices going down, Venezuela will have to pay them with a lot of oil, so Venezuela will use the oil it has bought from other countries to pay Rusia, basically changing a debtor with another without solving any of the financial crisis.

If this is correct then we are totally screwed in 2015, i don't think even Jesus can save us now.

The prisoners of Rodeo III have a hostage situation going on, i think it's because they aren't getting enough supplies because of the food shortage.

I hope they give that bitch Iris Varela what she deserves.

Varela is a major, ongoing Karma Houdini. I doubt it. Anytime something that vaguely looks like a comeuppance comes her way, she tantrums her way through it, and loves playing the victim 'because she's a woman'. Of course, it's okay when she mistreats and verbally abuses men who disagree with her.
