I've heard rumours something might be happening where I am (Basingstoke, Hampshire). I'm partially locked down as a result. Anyway, Manchester — I know there too, I used to go on day trips from University to there (1 1/2 hours from Birmingham, so not too far).

It almost sounds like there's some organisation forming. Leaders, and dividing into smaller groups and moving fast so the police can't catch them...

I think that leaderships always been there. This was planned, damn it. Perhaps on very short notice, but its too coordinated to have been done completely on the hop.

At the very least there was a pre-existing criminal structure and base knowledge ready to put these kinds of criminal operations into practice.

Oh, Crap! that was Midlands today this evening but I do hope I can use Wolverhampton Train Station on Friday afternoon or I'll be bloody hacked off.

Considering that groups have been getting trains out of London to other areas and starting stuff there this is defiantly being planned by some group somewhere.

Surburb of Wolverhampton, you say. Last time I checked, Wolves was part of the West Mids.

Anyway, still too quiet.

Apparently groups of shopkeepers in London have gone vigilantly.

According to the BBC live feed London is quite though what with the massive police presence.

The live feed when down for a sec and I thought the BBC might have been attacked.

All of London is quiet because of the 10,000 extra bodies of police and the tonne of angry london people who are arming themselves. The rest of the country is just having a worse than average saturday Night with slightly more arson.

TBH? I think that things should stay quiet in London ESPECIALLY as there has suddenly been a huge increase in the amount of people who are mobilising against the rioters.

Apparently she's alright, just has to stay inside, but that doesn't make things less scary.

The police have today arrested several people who have made comments on social networking sites encouraging more riots - including one in Glasgow. Glasgow is also showing a greatly increased police presence in the streets, even though there are no signs of the riots spreading here. Likewise Essex, I understand, though that's nearer to the riots so perhaps more at risk.

Tomorrow we are going to see a large rounding up of people who have been looting, its not as if ALL of the stuff can get sold fast enough.

That, coupled with the fact that I'd imagine a lot of the people are known to the police, will probably mean that this won't last much beyond a week.

People are following us around with bags, asking where the riots are. There is no doubt that there is a great deal of opportunism going on here tonight in Manchester.
