Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Alien inversion? Oh...you are all talking about "the incident"....
Why's that?
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.I guess because the show was a little bit too comfortable with victimizing female characters. It's all about the balance, but I guess with a female lead show it might be a little bit different.
Hah, no, but it's actually an interesting article that assures me his enthusiasm hasn't dipped. Energy, indeed, but passion, no.

x3 I wrote a whole post about it on Tumblr
But if you don't want to read my dumb, coffee-addled ramblings, basically my problem with Daredevil is that it's too gritty. There are other issues I have with it, but that's the biggest one.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I assume JJ is going to have a different tone. of course David Tennant is there creepin' it up.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectArgh, give a girl a warning that were more spoilers than I wanted to see about the movie. I thought this was one of the usual article, not something which describes scenes in detail!
Uh, yeah. My guess that it's going to be a tad more tame than DD for the majority of the series, but when they start getting into Jones' backstory and bring in the Purple Man, that's when things are going to get more f'ed up than DD ever was.
Or at least it'll be the case for me because, in my case, blood, gore, torture, etc.,; none of that really fazes me. What does faze me is a strong female superhero being brainwashed by a psychopath for a year and being forced to dress in skimpy clothing and watch as that psychopath rapes other women. F'ed-up stuff like that is what really gets me.(Though I'm still gonna' watch it.)

I sincerely doubt they'll go quite that far.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectFrom reading the Jesscia Jones comics (Axis and The Pulse), I would say she's a pretty strong character who's clearly been screwed up by what happens to her, but ultimately doesn't let the trauma define her or ruin her life in the end. Her traumatic backstory feels necessary to the character, not like it was thrown in for shock value or anything *cough cough*
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. And that probably makes all the difference between something being backstory and something just being exploitative.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectMaybe, but that whole incident is a major part of her character and backstory; some of it's still going to show up. And given that, well, this is Netflix, and they can get away with more than the movies, part of me feels they might go all the way with it, in part because they feel they can.

Sony's plans for Spider-man and Sinister Six revealed before Marvel deal.
Including Maximum Carnage, Spider-man 2099, Clone Saga, and a Kraven movie set before Amazing Spider-man 2 that really could have been the actual Amazing Spider-man 2 instead
And Sinister Six movie, lead by...Spider-man
Some really neat alternate takes on the AoU main cast, the Black Widow and Hawkeye ones in particular would be pretty cool to get official versions of.

They've been making the rounds. Yeah, those are pretty great.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI honestly didn't realize what spoilers were in the article. It all looked like the same stuff we already know and have been discussing.
I give Daredevil a pass on the torturing because, frankly, the show seems very, very aware of how fucked up it is, and doesn't try to cover its ass behind a veneer of "yes well it's okay when they're bad guys." (Granted, it's still far more effective than it should be, but.) Charlie spends a lot of time antagonizing over what, exactly, gives him the right to hurt people.
Plus, y'know, Captain America had a guy pushed off a building to get him to talk, and that was played for laughs, so.
I'm with you on the "way too much victimization of women" thing, though.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. In fairness the guy getting pushed off the building was never in serious danger of being harmed.
Jesus.
I really don't like how much of an ass the Purple Man is. And it probably doesn't help that I read his lines a la the 10th Doctor...
Then again, I do like the idea of him having JJ go after Daredevil as a way of connecting the two shows before the Defenders series, which will most definitely take forever.
Also, has anyone seen this?
TL;DR: they're Ant-Man billboards...for ants!
Cue theaters being flooded by ants and humans fleeing in panic. Marvel has ushered the antpocalypse.
Another thankfully less spoilery interview with Whedon. Shame about what happened to Ant Man. Also glad to know he's aware of the potential risk for Continuity Lockout.

That's true. Though, after Daredevil I'm really worried I'm not gonna like Jessica Jones.
