I can't even believe that such a thing has a page on this wiki but how about "Fan Fic CAW"...or rather "CAT: Create A Teammate".
CA Ws are very often Sailor Earths when they aren't pastiches of famous people or characters.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack
That acronym is rather specific to wrestling gaming fandom. Hell, I only know about it because I pay too much attention to videogames in general.
ISO Standard Interchangeable OC?
Also, thank you for explaining, Mad.

I am now known as Flyboy.^ You're welcome. I'm glad I got it right.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I'm trying to think of alternate names, but one problem is that I can't think of a trope that describes the "thematic group of characters" idea. That might help in creating a title with a manageable number of words.
Team Theme Fanwork Compliance? Team Theme Compliant Original Character?
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."My only issue with the CAW thing is that those don't have to be a Sixth Ranger. There's nothing keeping them in line with a specific theme. There's a lot more freeform creation.
The suggested suggestions are very bog standard titles which you would expect to make them Exactly What It Says on the Tin. The issue is, that none of them are which causes a lot of misuse.
I think the title least likely to abused is something like Sixth Ranger Original Character, which I hate because it's long and it requires knowledge of another trope, but it is a subtrope of that trope. And that trope isn't something that's easy to slap a nice tidy label on.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThat could work... It ain't the prettiest name, but it's logically derived from the supertrope and makes sense if you're already familiar with Sixth Ranger.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."I like that better, although I'd want something that indicates that it's specifically a character.
And I really want to avoid anything involving Sixth Ranger. I think that trope should be renamed, not inspiring clone names.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. That sounds more like a stock Mary Sue that everyone in a fandom uses. It could be this, but it could also be someone like a character's sister.
That suffers from the issue that you can fit the mould of Canon without being a Sixth Ranger. Introducing a new student from Beauxbatons during an alternate fourth year Harry Potter story would fit the cannon mould, but they wouldn't be this trope.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWe are trying to avoid initialism in trope names, though. What about Canon Mold Original Character?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. That still is far broader than the trope is. You can fit the style of cannon without making a Sailor Earth.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOkay, so another word instead of "canon", there. Roster? Team?
Pretentious quote || In-joke from fandom you've never heard of || Shameless self-promotion || Something weird you'll habituate toCAW actually has a broader usage than that Setsuna. Its used in Dynasty Warriors and more than a few other places. However still a bad name.
The problem with basing it around The Sixth Ranger is really it doesnt have to have any of the qualities of a Sixth Ranger. They appear and suddenly are a perfect team member like they were always there.
Original Character Roster Addition?

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Or Ensemble.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."I really don't see what's so bad about CAT: Create A Teammate.
I get CAW being to restricted(even though professional wrestling is available to a lot more viewers than Sailor Moon) but the CAW Phenomenon is still on going, Create A Teammate keeps a reference to fandom and isn't too difficult to guess by name, especially if it is listed as a Sub Trope of fan fic original characters.
- Original Character
- CAT (Create A Teammate)
Acronyms are not well thought of here, and I disagree that even the full Create A Teammate obviously suggests this trope.
Of the ideas so far Adding To The Roster and Fitting The Canon Mold would work the best as redirects. Both suggest the 'fanfiction character that's made to fit within the limits of canon' requirement at the core of this trope.
We should avoid Fitting The Canon Mould, because (as pointed out) it sounds too general. The trope name should make it clear that we're talking about characters. Adding To The Roster is a bit better.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."Seems like the titles best answering the objections thus far are: Roster Mold Original Character, Ensemble Mold Original Character, Team Mold Original Character, you get the gist...
Pretentious quote || In-joke from fandom you've never heard of || Shameless self-promotion || Something weird you'll habituate toNone of which convey the trope and all of which sound broader than they are since they just sound like an OC in the general style of the show rather than the character being a more specific Sixth Ranger.

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
Plug And Play Original Character means nothing to me. If pressed, I would guess "a new character for a Fighting Game" or something similar.
