And yet I'm not surprised.

Wait, what? It was inevitable, I guess.

Huh.

Wait, this is impossible. How is she dead, and Peter Doherty isn't?

Her manager tweeted something before this broke:

"Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances. Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen."

Or at least, I think it was before the death of her news broke. Some sort of cruel irony going on there.

IIRC, she had emphysema and other assortment of nasty illnesses. It was a matter of time that one'of'em would finally get her.

It's sad, but deppressingly unsurprising.

The only one song I remember was that cover of the Zutons. Which everyone thought was by her....

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.

It's sad that she's ended up like this. Although I wasn't a huge fan, she had some good songs and now she's going to be remembered as just another pop star who messed up on drugs. You can't save some people from themselves, I suppose.

I'm not surprised that she died, but it really is a pity for someone to go that young. She could have been much more than she was.

Yeah, with her drinking and drug problems and her death currently considered as "unexplained", it's not going to take a brain surgeon to put A to B. Still, I hope things don't go too badly for her here after.

"Back To Black" is going to make me cry forever now, isn't it? Like others, I'm not surprised but she was talented and it's a waste of a life.

This falls under sad, but not completely surprising.

It's a pity, though. She could have had a great career if it wasn't for her problems with drugs.

Definitely not surprising she's died this young. What would be surprising is if it's not drug or alcohol related.

[up] Probably.

This is going to receive more news coverage than the attack in Oslo, isn't it?

It already is.
