And again, World Building doesn't get heavy traffic because many, if not most of the people who post about their writing aren't world-building. They're using worlds someone else already built.
If you want to talk about world-building use the world building section. If you're writing a fanfic in a world that's already built, you don't need the world-building section. But it's not hurting you that it's there. Ignore it if you aren't interested. Or read it if you want to. Why should we get rid of it on the say-so of the people who don't use it?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.@Little doggie: so, let's do it. I fail to see why the writer's community on TV Tropes cannot make World Building into something we actually use. Without the mods having to do any more work than they're already doing.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~I actually like QQQQQ's proposal. It'll give us an excuse to split off from Real-ish (Rule of Three), and make us stand out more on the listing.
EDIT: And most of us use our own worlds. Even if it's set in the "real" world, there some world building needed to create the characters and fictional locations.

@Maddy: There's a lot of writers (myself included here) who have built their own worlds rather than used already-built ones. Those folks don't often use World Building the forum unless it cannot be solved by their own skills at that exact moment.
I'll freely admit, I do most of my own Worldbuilding and the few threads over there are mostly trying to get second opinions or viewpoints on certain things (like the Mini-Mecha Tech thread I did). I don't use it to create worlds from scratch and I've noticed quite a few troper works here who follow the same path.
(Does it mean mine or anyone else who world builds on their own is a better quality writer? I'm not sure. Some evidence from the troper works that see little to no threads over there suggests yes, but I'm hesitant to say for sure.)
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."
But as we stand, World Building's purpose is either vague or narrow. I think change is in order if we want to strengthen this part of the forum and become a more organized community.
