To be fair, in Tamers, the D-Arcs didn't actually come in contact with the water since physics in that Digital World only work the way you think they work. So the electronics didn't get wet while the humans and Digimon did the first time through.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! There were also times when the Adventure kids fell into water and their digivices were fine.
Not even just in the digital world: Jyou and Takeru nearly drowned while fighting Mega Seadramon, and not only were their devices fine, Jyou's activated Ikkakumon's perfect / Ultimate evolution.
So at least in Adventure, Digivices aren't affected by water.
I don't know how it applies to other worlds beyond Adventure and Tamers however.
One Strip! One Strip!I specifically mentioned salt water because in battle of adventures, takato does dive into the real world sea with the digivice, and that works just fine afterwards.
In frontier and xros wars all the action was in the digital world but they still got wet at some point with no problems afterwards. In savers the digivices never got wet so i dunno.
But the digivices are not invincible either, savers crew overloaded the digivices while trying to reach burst mode, frontier's digivice was hacked into and fixed by datamon, and in tamers takato managed to desintegrate his digivice with the digital hazard.

True.
It seems as though it takes very unique and extreme circumstances to outright damage, let alone destroy a digivice.
One Strip! One Strip! The digital hazard was no joke. Megidramon just existing was making everything fall apart.
I know this an entirely different universe and all of that, but maybe that might have been a case of Gatchmon being extra careful because he isn't completely sure of what can and cannot damage a digivice.
So posting this here because I don't expect to get much of an answer in the game thread:
Is there much difference between playing the game as Takuto and playing as Shiki?
Because against all odds, I've found some videos in english of the game (the entire game) but it's using Takuto (male main character) and I would rather watch it with Shiki (female main character).
I watched through two playthroughs of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, one in japanese and one in english with Ami (female main) so I kinda want to stick with that.
I seen only one play through with Shiki so far, so it's kinda annoying to be honest.
One Strip! One Strip!Catched up to the latest episode of Appmon!
The new fusion was really cool but its still kinda odd that this series so far still does not have insert songs.
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.I was somewhat baffled at the choice of fusion partner for Dokamon, but once I saw the form, I kinda got it. Give a fighter extra weight (from say eating a lot) and Sumo is a logical next step....I guess. I'm still not so sure.
Next guy next week, and I'm guessing he'll get his app fusion the week after.
One Strip! One Strip! Finally watched Appmon episode 6. It's much better then last week's, imo, since it didn't have to do with introductions and cut straight to the character stuff with Eri as an episode focused only on her. Her interactions with Appmon are different compared to Haru's, considering how she was totally willing to App Realize Perorimon right off the bat. Her motivation and what drives her as an idol is a lot more fleshed out as she has to deal with a problem with her job and Dokamon got some cute moments.
The new fusion sure... was something, don't know what to say that hasn't already said. I do appreciate that the requisite poop Appmon actually has a purpose and isn't here because lol poop is funny like the other poop Digimon. And the bait and switch of Perorimon and Gomimon works quite well.
Also I can't be the only one who looked at the next episode preview and thought that the character they're introducing looks too old to be an elementary school student, am I?

The main tamers cast were in elementary school.(ten years old)
I think the opening spoils who the the 7code Appmon are
-Game: Roleplaymon
-Social: Mailmon
-Tool: Gomimon
-System: Copypamon
-Navi: Weatherdramon
-Life: Medicmon
-Entertainment: Tellermon
Episode 7:
Will Torajirou's catchphrase start to get annoying after a while?
Yes. It will.
One Strip! One Strip!... You do not want to know what "Torajirou" just reminded me of. Seriously, you don't.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So will the Appli Drive's voice.
He may be a little eccentric, but at least he still manages to be likeable and the fact he and Musimon have a background together helps a lot. I think he is quite adorkable.
This is true.
He seems to have a strong sense of responsibility, and I like that he's not rebelling against his family as you'd expect, but asking permission (and being given it as well).
He's accepted that he's going to be the successor (though that may still be due to the expectations of others) but he's also found something he wants to do outside of that, and his father is letting him express that part of himself.
One Strip! One Strip!Torajirou's introductory episode was way better then Eri's imo, fleshing out him, Musimon and their relationship a lot more then her's. The animation was a bit off just like her intro episode tho, it's not bad, it's just distracting.
Gatchmon casually digging up personal information on Torajirou felt a little bit creepy to me, like they probably wouldn't use that kind of thing to do something bad but there's a lot of things that could go wrong with that ability.
It's cute how the embarrassing secret turned out to be heartwarming for everyone but Torajirou still found himself to be embarrassing. Also I find it funny that even Watchmon sat down to watch instead of attacking them.
The next episode with the three pairs interacting as a group is going to be fun.
True. There's only one character left to properly introduced (Rival Mc-Edgy) along with the other App-fusions, then we can start getting punched in the face with plot. Gonna be nice to get to newer stuff.
I wonder if any of Haru's friends will find out about Gatchmon and the others? I suppose we'll wait and see.
Also, I never got an answer to this question.
Does anyone know? It's arguably nitpicking, but I'd still like to know for sure.
One Strip! One Strip!Same thing as the difference between takumi and ami in cybersleuth, thanks to japanese having gender neutral pronoms. I think even when either male or female the protagonist speaks it's the same voice.
Well, they have different voice actors (you hear it in the different intros) so I'm assuming you mean the same dialogue options.
I admit, I suspected as much. I guess I'll just watch it as is. I would have prefer Shiki, but you do what you gotta do.
One Strip! One Strip! They do show both male and female protagonists in the trailer though.
Soo... A countdown site for the 20th anniversary of the series has opened. here is the link.
For whatever reason it has a somewhat creepy hearbeat-like noise.

"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.What? No nade-nade? :P
35 year old white man.
Considering the amount of times the kids and their digivices got under water (by force, accident or will), it has happened before. In tamers they even get into contact into actual sea water and come out of it fine.
Probably not the case in real life though.
