Yo ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, he, he, he, he, he. That looks like it could be a good one. About time the pirate flick revival get something behind it other than Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Besides this, is Aardman planning anything else for their list of stop motion projects?

Hey, before Flushed Away, didn't they pitch a pirate movie to Dreamworks that got shot down because "no one liked Pirate movies anymore"?

Is this based on Gideon Defoe's Pirates books? 'Cause if so, I am so there!

EDIT: I just noticed that the European title of the movie is the title of the first book, looks like I was right!

Yes.

Yeah, this one is actually based on a book. But you're right, they did pitch the idea of a pirate movie back in 2000 which eventually became Flushed Away. I'm hoping they get to stick some elements from that idea into this movie. The trailer didn't disappoint at all, considering that I've waited six years for it!

And the morale of the story: Dream Works couldn't predict the movie trends if they saw it in front of them!

To be fair, I don't think anyone else saw it coming, either. And if Johnny Depp hadn't created the Captain Jack we know and love, it probably wouldn't have been as big a hit.

Wow, impressive resume. Good to see they picked an actual voice actor over just some random celebrity. Still, I wonder why they chose this guy.

They probably watched him in that series and thought he could make a good Lemony Narrator. Because in this movie, that would be brilliant.

Makes sense. Aardman does love their snarkiness.
