Digimon are just on a higher power scale. If Greymon is allowed to digivolve, at all, Charizard won't be able to win. I'm not sure how it would go between just the shown forms.

Although, dude didn't say Charizard vs Greymon. He said Pokemon vs Digimon.

All of the Pokemon versus all of the digimon.

All of them.

On this week's battle: DC has a tendency to elevate all their favored characters to basically demi-gods of BS proportions. Somehow Marvel did that with Hawkeye and archery...

On the next battle: if Greymon can digivolve at will, it's over. The pokemon Royale showed that Pokemon are very powerful, especially when compared to Agumon or Greymon, but Metal Greymon and War Greymon are on a whole new level. I'd love it if War Greymon's Dramon Destroyer claws killed the dragon Charizard mega. Also, the dub's music was great.

Those poor Pokemon.

I forgot that Wargreymon was strong against dragons specifically.

Dramon, but it's presumably similar.

The Greymon line also gets access to Chrome Digizoid armor, so unless they're roasted in their shells, they could do alright.

Oh right, those claws. It's hard to imagine DB not using those as definite argument in digimon's favor.

Haven't seen new pokemon series (or old past Orange Islands for that matter). What feats does charizards have?

Hey, you remember that piece of building, War Greymon threw in Venom Myotismon's crotch? That building exists in real life, if I've heard correctly. Maybe it's possible to calculate War Greymon's lifting strength from that.

[up]I doubt bolder melting heat is much of an issue. Speed however is something different - War Greymon isn't slugger, but his speed isn't emphasized either. Anything below War hovever is totally a walking iceberg.

We should already have Charizard's feats from the Venusaur-Charizard-Blastoise triple Deathbattle. The only thing that need to know now is Mega Charizard X's anime feats.

Green Arrow vs Hawkeye: Dang it, I was rooting for Green Arrow. I'm slightly disappointed that the reasoning was "better stats", but Hawkeye's better skill at close-range fighting is also a good argument. At least they used his Marvel vs Capcom 3 theme for the fight.

As for the next match... I grew up being a fan of both franchises, so I'm really glad the match is happening. If it's just a random Greymon who's fighting a random Charizard, then the match can be close, but any level higher than that is an easy win for Digimon note

That said, Superman/Goku was also a lopsided match, but still a pretty good one.

[up]Alain's Mega Charizard X went up against several other Mega Pokemon like Mega Absol, Mega Garchomp, Mega Tyrannitar, Mega Venusaur, Mega Alakazam, Mega Heracross, Mega Ampharos, Mega Scizor, Mega Bannette, Mega Aggron, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Houndoom, and won all of them.

It's wings create explosions, Dragon Claw can make a powerful shockwave throughout a forest, Flamethrower practically destroyed the forest in a straight line, Blast Burn makes a gigantic explosion.

Mega Charizard X got his ass kicked by Mega Blastoise, but managed to survive it's Dragon Pulse and tank through Hydro Pump. Mega Charizard X, despite the type advantage, didn't even seem to phase Steven's Mega Metagross.

And while it didn't win, Mega Charizard X managed to do pretty well defending and fighting a bit against Mega Rayquaza and Primal Groudon.

Red's Mega Charizard X managed to take down Mewtwo, matching and then surpassing its power in order for Red to capture it.

Imma give it to Greymon and Tai for three reasons:

  • While Charizard can Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X or Y due to Red's presence, Greymon can Digivolve into Metal Greymon, SkullGreymon, and WarGreymon due to Tai's presence.
  • Charizard has no armour and subpar defence, whereas Metal Greymon's and WarGreymon's armour are made of Chrome Digizoid, which is the strongest metal in the Digiverse.
  • Charizard is in the Dragon egg group and becomes ½ Dragon-type in its Mega X form. WarGreymon's Dramon Killer/Destroyer gauntlets are super-effective against dragons.

[up][up] Keep in mind that Mega Charizard X is part dragon type, so if that's the mega form they're using, then that gives WarGreymon a massive advantage since his primary weapons are designed specially for the purpose of slicing through dragons like butter.

Though if they use Mega Charizard Y (unlikely) Mega Charizard's special attacks will be destructive, even further boosted by the sun.

[up][up] Charizard's in the Dragon egg group too, which gives WarGreymon a massive advantage right off the bat.

[up] Unless they equate Metal Greymon's and WarGreymon's Chrome Digizoid armour with being part Metal-type in Pokemon, I'm not sure how that would help.

Egg groups have nothing to do with typing, especially since Helioptile is in the Dragon egg group despite learning precisely one Dragon Type move via TM

Ooooh, this may be closer than anticipated. I'm primarly Digimon fan and want Greymon to win, but I won't riot if Charizard takes it. There have been many instances where underdog won, so Charizard winning wouldn't be such big of a surprize.

[up][up] You never know how they'll factor stuff like that in, though. Pokemon's Egg Groups are more similar to Digimon's Families than the Type system in a lot of ways.

Maybe? I doubt they will, considering that the Egg Groups a strictly based on how a Pokemon looks rather than the properties of a Pokemon.

I have no doubt that Charizard can go toe to toe and even surpass and defeat Greymon, but when it comes to their advanced forms, Mega Charizard X and Y just get eclipsed...

Oh man, I'm a huge Pokemon fan,but i don't see charizard winning. Even with what little I've seen of digimon.

Being with Red will help, but digimon simply has larger fight scopes (higher power levels? I don't know what you would call it exactly).

That said.

What if Greymon devolves instead? Unlike Pokemon, Digimon can suffer drops in power for whatever reason. Charizard vs. Agumon sounds like it would that much easier for the former.

I just realized this is technically the second Death Battle Charizard will be participating in. Has that ever happened before?
Yeah, thrice:
  1. Leonardo took part in the TMNT Battle Royale, and then (as the representative of TMNT via winning the aforementioned four-way fight) faced off against Battletoads protagonist Zitz.
  2. Then there's Batman facing off against Spider-Man, and then in Season 2 facing off against Captain America.
  3. Finally, there's the Superman vs. Goku clash, which got a rematch in Season 2 following the introduction of the Super Saiyan God transformations.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
