What has actually killed Shao Kahn before? What are his limits?
But yeah, Asura's Wrath Oni was ridiculous.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell, one time Liu Kang just punched Shao Khan through the heart, and he got better by walking it off. So...his limits are quite a bit.
My various fanfics.I remember reading somewhere that Asura's Wrath is a more accurate representation of Evil Ryu's and Akuma/Oni's powers than Street Fighter's gameplay. It makes sense, since Akuma was capable of blowing up an island with a single punch and kicking a submarine from the bottom of the ocean to the surface in cutscenes but doesn't display anywhere near that sort of power in actual gameplay; and Oni is exponentially more powerful.

Do remember that the Asura's Wrath version of Akuma managed to keep fighting Asura for five hundred years, even after both of them somehow turned into stone statues.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I've never played that game, but telling me that someone fought someone else for 500 years while they were a statue doesn't sound impressive the way the bold font seems to imply. Statues are not known to give much sport.
They turned into stone over the course of their 500 year fight.
And if we're counting all sources and keeping in mind that Akuma < Oni, his Marvel vs Capcom 3 ending has him beating Galactus and claiming that there was no one in the Marvel universe that could give him a match.
You forget that Shao Kahn's force field reduces all damage received by 50 percent, and his shoulder tackles are cheap as hell.
Akuma also has no defense to Shao Kahn's "it's official, you suck!.
But no, if we're looking at AS Akuma, Kahn loses.
The New Team Avatar vs Team RWBY?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).The Marvel Vs Capcom version of Galactus. One that, ya know, forgets most of his power
(Which version of earth is Marvel Vs Capcom anyway?)
edit: So it is... Earth-TRN177

That's not its official name. The Marvel wiki assigns placeholder names to new universes until Marvel deigns to officially name them.

How about you watch said fight, then? The statue thing is at the very end, starting from 15:25-ish, but can only be fully appreciated after watching the whole fight first, to put everything into context.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. From the context of the video, it seems clear they didn't fight non stop for 500 years... They turned to stone mid punch for whatever reason for god knows how long then resumed fighting. Unless the universe they are in involves moss growing instantly. And trees, and grass growing instantly.
So I stand by my point. Two statues not fighting each other for 500 year isn't impressive! It's what statues do!
(And honestly, if they did fight for 500 years despite the evidence to the contrary, what kind of idiots keep going at it for that long when they can clearly not harm each other... That was a boring fight. No one's in any danger.)
(Also, why did they wait so long to... unstone and resume punching each other. Man, none of this makes a lick of sense.)

I think the implication was that they fought for so long that they got petrified by how long they were punching each other :P
Which indeed makes no sense since how are you going to petrify when you are clearly moving?
... Makes as much sense as anything else!
If I remember correctly, Asura's body seems to turn to stone every time he dies and unpetrifies when he revives.
Just skip the whole stone sequence, really. It doesn't add much to a fight that was otherwise already a large display of power.
Anyway, if Akuma is already canonically powerful enough to destroy an island with a single attack, then maybe just him vs. Shao Kahn, I wonder how that would go.

The sad, REAL American dichotomySamus vs Pit. Who's really the strongest Nintendo character?
I have a message from another time...Considering Pit would be without Palutena, who supplies him with most of his powers, he would only be able to rely on his weapons. Samus is already superhumanly strong and durable, and has an enormous arsenal of weapons of her own - far beyond what was displayed in the previous episode featuring her.
Interestingly, both have a knack for killing Metroids.

Well, Pit fights Koymatoes, which look like Metroids, and have the same method of attack, but are different enemies. for one, Metroids mostly only have weaknesses to low temperatures and extremely high explosives, whereas Koymatoes can (and must) be killed by blunt force.
One question is whether Pit would be given access to any sacred treasures.

I have a message from another time...Samus has beaten Ridley, who is too big to comprehend, so I'd probably give the win to her.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell, there is this trailer, and a couple other points:
- The name Koymayto comes from the Japanese Kometoroido, meaning "Baby Metroid"
- From the description of Koymatoes in Kid Icarus: "One theory has it that it came from a planet other than Earth." and "While this creature resembles a certain alien life-form, the last Komaytos are not in captivity and Skyworld is not at peace."
- There's also this gem from Kid Icarus: Uprising:
Viridi: No! Shhhh! Stop right there!
Pit: What's the matter? All I said was that Komaytos look like little Metr—
Viridi: *hums the Metroid Item Get! theme* I can't HEAR you!
Pit: Hey, what's your problem?
Viridi: This game universe and that game universe have NOTHING to do with each other! So don't go around spreading rumours!
Ridley isn't too big to comprehend. He's usually 5 or so times as big as she is from snout to tail.

Yeah, but Koymatoes are definitely fought differently (punching/other blunt force, as opposed to requiring intense cold and high explosives)
I have a message from another time...Different breeds of Metroids have different weaknesses. It'd be funny if the Koymatoes were what dead Metroids become.
In any case, Pit is stronger and faster than your average human, but without Palutena's intervention he'd lack all of his powers. Weapon-wise, he'd probably be given at least the Palutena Bow, and maybe other weapons based on his Smash 4 moveset.
Samus' "vs. Boba Fett" Death Battle barely scraped the tip of the iceberg in terms of what her Power Suit is capable of.

His weapons can have interesting effects on him, from increasing his defenses, to making him stronger as his health dwindles, to poisoning/freezing/petrifying targets. Those aren't linked to the powers he gets from the goddess, mind.
(Great) Sacred Treasures would also be a very important point. Would he have them?

I have a message from another time...Both the original Three Sacred Treasures and the Great Sacred Treasures were destroyed, though they might get brought up as a trump card or something.

If they'd given Akuma the ability to turn into Oni, there are only three words that can describe the result: Curb-Stomp Battle.
