No, it's not an audience reaction. There's a somewhat subjective element to it, but not enough to cause problems with Natter and arguments about whether something is really improbable.

Actually, maybe you're right. Reality Is Unrealistic and Technology Marches On are similar tropes, and those have always been on the main tab. Then again, should those be there?
I, personally, think that they should all* be moved somewhere. They're neither tropes (i.e. conventions of fiction), nor are they a part of production or audience reactions. Might be better suited to Trivia, as Deboss said.
Of course, disregard the above if I'm using the wrong definition of "trope".
