Should be easy: Pounds Are Doggy Prison

Ideas? Remember this is about depictions of animal control in general, not exclusively dog pounds.

One possibility:

I think any scene from "The New" Pound Puppies cartoon would work, too. Not the (literally) new one that's out nowadays on Hub, the other "new" one.

GIS has a◊ few◊ good◊ ones◊.

I like the last two best.

Oh, that #3 is just heartbreaking...either that or the OP's pic would be fine.

Wow, Shark's #3 is definitely heartbreaking. (The others in that post are too jocular for their own good.)

I must admit I have a soft spot for Bolt's Mittens — if you look closely at the animation, in that particular scene she's actually holding back tears.

The larger Bolt pic looks good...still dunno which one I'd prefer.

Animation nothing, I found it obvious out of context even before watching the movie... if not ESPECIALLY before watching the movie.

I like the kitty. I would like to see it brightened just a touch, but I like both not being literal and not the background set up.

There's probably a good shot in Lady And The Tramp somewhere.

The one with the cat's cage looking like a prison cell is probably more obvious than ones with the dogs behind what looks like a fence, though.

Might I suggest a picture from Chicken Run? The trope is about pets in general, not just dogs, isn't it?

It's about pets and what not in general. Wasn't Chicken Run about a chicken coop? I don't think that really counts since it's not a pound, it's a farm.

Well, I found I slightly higher quality image on my computer that I wasn't even sure until now if I had; it's a screenshot from when I rented it;

Anyway, there does not seem to be much objection to the Mittens one, should I put it up?

I dunno, with the Lady And The Tramp pic we've got three really good candidates...I'm thinking a crowner's in order.

I guess a crowner is not a bad idea, but I feel I should point out that the Lady And The Tramp images do not as clearly give off a prisonlike feel, given the wood, the green paint, (which looks like, if not actually is, plant material) and that the bottom 2 images have a fence instead of the bars.

I say the Mittens pic is good, though perhaps what to use for the caption should still be discussed. (I suggested a caption earlier on, in one of the lower-quality versions of the Mittens pic.)

I still the best image is this one, because it give off a more human prison vibe.

Crowner. Pound it!

The problem with this one is from a real pound and looks like a real pound. This fictional trope is quite different to real life and we don't want to evoke the later.

The Bolt pic seems to be a good visualization of the trope: it looks like it is emulating a human prison.

I'd suggest a lighter version of the Bolt pic so we can see the character more clearly:
