Alright, came up with a character for this, maybe. We'll see how it goes.

Name: Warren
Appearance: Human◊, Fae◊
Sex: Male
Race: Fae
Gear: Spear (doubles as a catalyst)
Powers: Elemental magic, minor illusions (mostly concealing his identity or the appearance different items)
Skills: Understanding and reading magic, combatives with staves and polearms, flight (Fae form)
Physical abilities: Average person, lethargic when losing his magic. Quick traits: Generally quiet and self-reflecting, though he's more prone to talking when it's something he knows about (typically magic or nature). He prefers looking like a human, to "blend in", and as such, his true form is only revealed as needed (unless someone can see through it early. He'll still stay in human form, though). Due to being a magical being, anti-magic does a lot more than lock down his magic, so sometimes he'll have to "hide" in his human form to survive it.

Um, any questions? I may have made some of this a bit wordy. For those curious, I took an approach along the lines of Fablehaven, mixed in with my own ideas.

Chuck, I am more then a little disapointed with your most recent action.

We only have one monster right now, a boss fight, and you make every one back off the ONLY source of combat we have in this excursion.... to go solo/cut-scene on it.

Considering how much focus Chuck already gets, this is.... kinda bad form dude.

If we had more then one monster, by all means what your doing would have been fine, but you claimed the only one there at the moment.

Don't worry, I didn't plan on Chuck soloing anything. The whole "mount the monster and stab at it" is an actual gameplay mechanic in Monster Hunter. One player jumps on the Monster's back and takes its attention so the rest of the team has time to reload, sharpen their weapons, use items etc. until the mountee is inevitably thrown off, hopefully only after managing to make the monster fall prone and make it an easier target for the others.

Alrighty, I am just so used to how that goes in WAOA, where we usualy have more then one monster to murderfy. >.<

True it might be a mechanic of Monster Hunter 4, which I was well aware of, but I think you could have communicated it better. Usually when someone tells others to back off without explaining why during a team battle in fiction, it's for personal reasons, not to divert attention.

Still, no harm no foul here.

After a much needed break, here's my attempt at a new character.

Name: Felix Norman.

Sex: Male

Race: Human

Gear: Pen◊: Has “Mightier than the sword, indeed” engraved on it. Also, looks a little bloodstained. Strange.

Umbrella: An Umbrella with a rather hard handle. It looks like you could crack a few skulls with this thing...And it looks like someone already has.

The Strongly Written Letter◊: This “Typewriter” is very useful when dealing with annoyances and the like.

Purple suit: Classy, with a emblem of an umbrella.

Briefcase: Just a brown leather briefcase. Holds his Umbrella, paperwork, and his “Typewriter”.

Powers: None.

Skills : Master at finishing paperwork and any type of paperwork be it research or forgery. Not afraid to get violent when necessary with improvised weapons. Omniglot.

Physical Abilities: Do to odd hours, can get by on less sleep than most.

Quick Traits: Is in his 40s-50s. Has a British gentleman-like attitude, but is willing to get snarky and vulgar like anyone else.

• Name: S.A.M.D.R.A.◊ (Super Adaptive Medical Robot A)
• Sex: Female
• Race: Gynoid
• Gear: Removable hands with gunfingers with two ammo types (normal and rubber), the former for lethal excursions, and the latter for pacifying. Has to reload every nine shots.
• Powers: She's a robot???
• Skills: Has a few hand-to-hand programs for those pesky encounters where you just can't rely on gun.
• Physical Abilities: Agile, punches hurt when thrown
• Quick Traits: Somewhat nervous, prefers to incapacitate targets unless the situation is desperate, a little secretive about her origins.

• Name: Sarah
• Sex: Female
• Race: Human
• Gear: Hunting rifle and laser pistol. Wears a vault 101 jumpsuit and has a labcoat in her bag. Because labcoats are cool.
• Powers: She can tie a cherry stem with her tongue.
• Skills: Extremely talented in scientific and medical matters. Growing up in a vault has its advantages.
• Physical Abilities: Pretty agile and accurate with her rifle.
• Quick Traits: A pretty cheerful lass, but can have a hard edge due to walking the wasteland. She can have a pretty dark sense of humor, mostly as a coping mechanism.
