Well, with your guys' input as we go along, I bet this could work. I think it could be made interesting good, some pretty decent character interaction.

You seem to not realize that we are saying "no"

Okay, I know that nobody spoke up about the current setting and why this character is a particularly bad fit, so I accept my share of the blame on that one.

But overall, the current setting/plot involves the Pokemon setting. It's been stated repeatedly in the lore that visible firearms of any kind are banned worldwide. Our characters had to sneak their junk in, and even then we're being forced to play by the world's norms by looking into Pokemon training as an alternative. And that if any of those kind of norms are broken, the entire plot would be potentially scrubbed because our characters would immediately be on the bad side of the whole world's law.

And we already have several characters with major psychoses that have itchy trigger fingers. One of them got verbally chewed up last night just for panicking and shooting a few pokermans.

...I'm gonna let the DMs have the ultimate word on it, but I really don't think that diving in with that as your first character at this particular time would end well. You'd likely find less potential problems if you chose someone less liable to shoot as your first-chancer to get the hang of the game.

I bet like some convincing is needed.

But yeah, I get it.

So if I were to do the RP, what kinda first character would you recommend?

Yeah I don't think that character is going to work, for the reasons that Rai already stated.

As much as we joke about murderhobos or whatever, someone who is actually delusional and violently unstable is not a good idea.

[up][up]I dunno, someone with a far more even-keel personality or a focus on non-lethal methods of solving problems. We've already got an overabundance of characters with psychological issues and/or focus on bangity bang bang.

Yeah, I get that. But I thought that was like about self-contained guys who perform massacres in their opening posts.

Yeah, I got like a pretty decent char for play lined up. (And only somewhat murderous.)

Somewhat is good.

Also, I would like to point out that this is Lone Wanderer!Albert right now. The man would walked the wastelands with only a dog for company on a journey to find his father despite almost everyone trying to kill him. The ultimate determinator.

Will make dad jokes for friends.

If you mean Martin Walker, he's the main character of Spec Ops The Line. He had PTSD from a former tour to Iraq, and was called in on a covert ops mission to Dubai. Over the course of the game, he slowly transformed from a disciplined battle-hardened soldier into a paranoid, delusional, suicidal and violently angry gibbering maniac, who repeatedly hallucinated that his former dead commander was behind everything, and was stubbornly determined to finish his mission even when he saw signs that it wasn't only pointless but made things worse.

Basically, someone who completely and utterly snapped in the course of a single game. That is what Zen proposed to play initially.

...But if you mean who his SECOND proposed character is, I've been waiting for him to explain.

he's the main character of Spec Ops: The Line

Thats all I needed to hear, honestly I think he WOULD be interesting, but I dunno if pokemon world is the correct place.

Frankly, were it any world but Pokerman world, I wouldn't have immediately jumped in with saying "no", but as I said before, this setting's pretty damn restrictive on most of our characters already, let alone a violent lunatic.

Not to spoil he in-game mood but it doesn't seem like there's a lot the rest of us can do at the moment, should we sit right and figure Samus will want to talk to us all or what?

Chalk it up to total newbness if I'm just antsy.

This game actuay has large periods of downtime like WAOA, just not as much.

You get the plot moving about once every 2-3 days, which is still quite a bit.

Just talk with other charecters. :)

Looks good to me. Spiderman's always been a fine fit in this game, so Gwen's good to go imo

This is just a concept I'd like to throw out for feedback/ideas. Considering we already have a few new characters, I plan to introduce this one a bit later if it passes.

  • Name: Longarm Prime
  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Cybertronian (Autobot)
  • Age: 2015 Stellar-cycles old (aka 1259.375 years physically in our calender system)
  • Gear: Due to the nature of his species, this will list only the parts of him that are explicitly designed as detachable weapons
    • Plasma Cannon: A powerful Cybertronian rifle that fires beams of plamsa powerful enough to incapacitate a Transformer. Its dual nature as his crane arm when he is in Alternate form makes it difficult to damage it and it can also work as an improvised club-slash-fishing rod.
  • Powers:
    • As with all Transformers, he has the ability to change from his primary robot form into an alternate mode, in the form of a semi-mobile crane platform.
  • Skill: Skilled with basic bootcamp training in melee and projectile weapons training, but really excels in his abilities as a natural-borne intelligence gatherer. He particularly excels in translation, decryption, and communications interception.
  • Physical Abilities: Strong and durable even by the standards of many Cybertronians thanks to his unusual body. By curious circumstance, his body was forged with multiple transformation cogs, which allows him to shapeshift his body in more ways than just beyond the alt-mode all Transformers have. His primary use for this ability is extending his limbs to several times their length, hence his nickname “Longarm”. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of making his body far denser than a normal transformer of his build, so he sinks like a rock in water or in particularly fragile places. While some have theorized Longarm could potentially use this ability to shapeshift into smaller alt-modes for perfect infiltration, he considers such possibilities pointless since all that extra mass has to go SOMEWHERE. No cybertroninan would compress their body to an alt-form so much smaller than what they were forged with, you'd have to be insane to try it...
  • Language: Among 1,000 alien ones, but primarily uses English
  • Quick Traits: Has an intense amount of emotional restraint and dedication to logic and protocol, so many of his fellow Autobots view him as a rather stiff and socially awkward man. Acts rather nice and polite in general, but trying to pull a fast one on him is liable to get you a long, stern talking to. A very, VERY long stern talking to. Nevertheless, he is very straightforward and considered one of the most trustworthy fellows one can talk to if they have a problem.

    Personal file, Do Not Look
  • True Name : Shockwave
  • Sex : Doesn't matter
  • Race : Cybertronian (Decepticon)
  • Gear :
    • Plasma Cannon: A powerful Cybertronian rifle that fires beams of plamsa powerful enough to incapacitate a Transformer. Its dual nature as his tank's mounted cannon when he is in alternate form makes it difficult to damage.
  • Powers :
    • As with all cybertronians, he has an alternate form he can turn himself into, in this case a tank. Thanks to his unusual body, which was built with more than one t-cog, he can transform into a far larger variety of shapes than other transformers, even capable of imitating other cybertronians. The limitation of this ability is that he cannot subvert physics and thus retains all his mass. This means that he has a limit to how far he can stretch or compress himself, especially when he's assuming his identity as Longarm.
  • Skills : While his skills as an intelligence gatherer are nothing to sneeze at, he personally excels and takes delight in his abilities as a spy and scientist, especially in picking apart any cybertronian's secrets that exist in either their mind or in their CNA. Of course, while he is still decent at fighting, he has very rarely found a use for it in the past centuries, so his skills in this department have atrophied a bit.
  • Physical Abilities : In his natural form, he is tall and sleek but only of average durability for a Transformer of his size. Thanks to the rocket boosters in his feet, he has the ability to fly as a means of escape or hovering in place, although his control and finesse are also not nearly as good as they used to be thanks to lack of use.
  • Quick Traits : Holds to hard logic and fact so tightly it unnerves even the cruelest Decepticon. It's suspected that when he deleted his original identity in dedication to the Decepticon cause he also deleted all of his emotions and morality, leaving him as a cold machine incapable of empathizing with the plight of those whose lives he's ruined in the name of Megatron. Of course, losing his original identity and face have not made him lose his sense of humor, so he's prone to making rather dry comments if he's particularly amused or annoyed, even while undercover.

Nya ha ha as planned I have the character sheet.

Name: Ta'Lon

Race: Narn

Age: Adult Narn

Appearance: [1]

Gear: Leather garments typically worn by Narn. A K'Tok, a Narn version of a Wakazashi, which is known for it's sharpness and durability due to high quality Narn worknarnship and high wuality natural resources and a Kalat, a multi-function energy pistol as it can be used as a projectile and as a pair of knuckle dusters.

Powers: Is a resilient and willful Narn.

Physical abilities: As an experienced Narn Warrior he is well versed in combat of most kinds, including hacking, piloting and swordsmanship. Narns, in general, due to their arid homeworld and slightly higher gravity are more stocky and solidly built than humans and as a result can survive wounds that would kill a regular human.

Quick traits: He is a phlegmatic and dutiful Narn. So much so he is prepared to fast for several days in order to remain at a location to meet a VIP, and has survived near-crippling torture only to return to his duty more determined than ever. He is a trained pilot and has some layman experience with infiltrating.

So do I need to make any adjustments on Ta'Lon? Is that more the drift?
