The film has been in Development Hell for years (Tartakovsky wasn't even the first choice to direct). Sandler was probably the only way that Sony could be compelled to make it.
Now I'm hoping that Sandler doesn't take over creative control and insist on his own crew members. I do not want one of the Gregson-Williams brothers (Rupert usually scores Sandler's films and his work is even worse than Harry's often repetitive work, not surprisingly they are Zimmer proteges) to score yet another animated movie. They better keep Mark Mothersbaugh on.
In other Sony animation news, John Francis Daley (Sam from Freaks and Geeks) is co-writing the Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs sequel.

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/As I read it, Adam Sandler was cast because he has a long line of previous films deals with Sony.
-reads about sequel- ..... YES. YES. YES.

I heard that this had been through a whole bunch of directors, one of them was David Feiss.I think Genndy may be doing this to get the money for the Samurai Jack film as well as buying the rights to his recent show that CN decided to cancel for crap.
Already a topic on this.
I happen to be INSANELY EXCITED. Dexter's Laboratory and Sym-Bionic Titan are among my favorite TV shows, and this will be even better than Pixar's Brave (probably).
Does anyone have Genndy Tartakovsky's email? I want to send him a message thanking him for not giving up, no matter how much corporations hate him.
signature lineUm, my gut tells me 100% that Brave will be leaps and bounds better than this film. Sony has yet to reach the level of quality Pixar has already established years before they started an animation studio of their own.
... how familiar with the industry are you? I doubt Genndy would be able to receive your email, considering he most likely has tons of people handling his studio communications for him.

Also, you can get charged with stalking.
I also have my doubts with this. It sounds like Igor but with more monsters.

I've done this to John Kricfalusi, Lauren Faust and Jhonen Vasquez before and have actually gotten responses.

signature lineI think it sounds like they're finally making Igor into a good movie. It had a cool concept that was handled very poorly, and I'm happy to see Genndy and Sony take another stab at spoofing Universal Horror.

Looking for some stories? Can I happily post a vote of "No Confidence" on this, regardless that Genndy is responsible?
Lest we forget, This is Adam Sandler and Kevin James we're dealing with as of now. Two of the worst comedians...EVER.
Unless Genndy had allies in high places for this movie, and Genndy is given full control of the operation a hand - NO CONFIDENCE.
Peace spoken.
In Neo Arcadia, there are no politics. Just Law, Order, and judgement. And violence - LOTS OF F***ING VIOLENCE! YAY, VIOLENCE!!!Fran Drescher as The Bride Of Frankenstein. I must see this.
Yeah, Fran Drescher as the Bride of Frankenstein is such a genius casting move I wonder why no one thought to do it earlier! But the rest of the cast is making me worry.

Adam Sandler doing a voicing role shouldn't be too bad. His album work features him doing several voices (his role in Zookeeper even has him doing a different than usual voice).
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Lets wait for the trailer of this before we can assume its crap shall we?
I liked Kevin James as Paul Blart, actually.
Then again, I also liked Cars 2, and Ren and Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon", so my opinions should probably be disregarded.
signature lineOh-kaay.
Amusingly, it just hit me that the normal guy who finds the hotel is named Jonathan...heh, heh.
Looking for some stories?@Taco Wiz
Corporation don't hate him. I mean, the stuff that happened to his shows weren't personal. It's just the nature of the business sadly.
@S 3:
You think Sandler is "One of the worse comedians ever"? Realy?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but i'd disagree.

Hmmm... as much as I like Tartakovsky's previous creations, did they really have to cast Adam Sandler?
EDIT: I believe this might be a way to fund that Samurai Jack film he announced he was doing with JJ Abrams a while back... if it's actually still in pre-production.
