So...please explain why this was a good image for this trope, with an explanation other than "I still find this ten-year-old meme funny."

And again, it's not an example. Heck, this trope was actually up for renaming a while ago, since it's about the bad guys raiding the good guys' headquarters, not simply conquering most of the good guy's military territory.

is an Alternate Universe, not a Time Travel story, so while it does seem to provide a good representation it isn't actually an example.

I've got an idea for this, but it'd be a multi-panel pic...I may get time tonight to work on it.

I tried looking for a still from Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor, but most of the pictures look like just boats being attacked.

And actual pictures from Pearl Harbor just look like smoke and water.
