As an ass-man, I can only scoff at the petty proles who can't go five minutes without boobs.

Pretty sure the mares already have those, even if they're in different spots on a quadruped.

Best I can tell, it's entirely for aesthetic purposes. They want the ease of human motor skills, but still want an animal aesthetic, so we end up with that mishmash. Can't speak for the stories, but when it comes to visual art design, I don't mind the concept of anthro itself, but the closer it gets to the human side of the scale, the higher the danger of running into some serious uncanny valley problems.

As to customizable filters, I wish we'd get them too, but lolKnightydesignpriorities.

Knighty is God! Don't talk bad about Knighty or he'll take ponyfics away from us! You know he does it. Every time somebody badmouths him, a story disappears from the feature box.

Considering what often reaches the feature box, I feel like badmouthing him more now.

The law of averages are on my side. I can wait him out.

Meh, not like I read any fic anymore, anyway. And if he came after me, I doubt it would make much difference if my stuff suddenly disappeared.

Anthro fanfiction strikes me more as laziness than anything. It lets the writer do less work and make the setting have more verisimilitude, but part of the attraction of the setting is those differences. In most cases, using anthro characters is completely pointless; it only serves as a shortcut for writers and doesn't influence the quality of the story in a positive way.

Now with porn (both written and visual), it actually serves a point. In that case, the anatomical differences and so forth could actually improve the experience for both the reader and writer. Most anthro porn just uses the tag as an excuse to have clickbait cover art, though.

I have written exactly 1 anthro story and I only did that for practice. I don't see anthro as necessarily bad, it just needs to be rather exceptional for me to bother reading it. Most of the time it's porn and such, but not all the stories that have anthro in them need be that.

And CD, could you please change your avvie? Super-sad Twilight doesn't really match what you say when you get all hammy on us.

I think it creates a fine comedic effect. The avatar, that is, not Boobs stories.

I like my ponies original flavor.

I suppose it wouldn't kill me to change.

I admit to being rather at a loss as to why it took off like that, but it's a humorous break from, well, everything, and maybe that's all that's needed.
