Inafune constantly criticized Japanese developers, saying that they were behind Westerners in terms of innovation (huh?). He left Capcom saying something along the lines of "starting his life over" and launched his own company (Comcept) on 12/15/10.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadAnd of course he doesn't own the rights to the Mega Man franchise so if people want to play Legends 3 they have to buy from Capcom. Correct

Game publishers live and die based off of sales. The Internet is the main reason people hear about and buy new games, nowadays.
Put 2 and 2 together.
Also... Eh, this pisses me off. I like my games used, because I typically like to scout out older games that I can get for cheap (not that I don't buy anything N1 new...). Why not just make a deal to give the companies a cut of the profits?
Yes, it'll mean higher prices on used games, but it won't mean dick moves intended to quash out the used game market.
All in all, though, I wish people would just forget about this, and move on, so I can buy a used copy of Arcana Heart when I get back home.
I am become Death, Destroyer of Miniputts.lolpaiddemo

Wait a sec, according to wikipedia, this game doesn't have "single use save", it just can't have save file deleted. Since its arcade style game, it doesn't even have campaign to be saved, so doesn't this make this whole topic pointless since its misinformation?
The main point is this could be implemented in games that aren't arcade style. Games that have actual campaigns and story modes. We need to stop them before that happens!
Doesn't mean it's still not a bad idea, especially if it's implemented into other games.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.Again. The save game isn't preventing you from playing through the game again. It's not even preventing you from playing through previous levels again. It is, however, ruining the experience for players on a used cartridge because they can't unlock things themselves. The experience of a fresh play-through is exclusive to the first player, and the save game can never be reset.
This is an important part of why people purchase games, new or used. Removing that experience, including for the player who wants to start over fresh after getting everything (we do exist), isn't fair to the customer base.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit. The irony of course is if one wanted to play this game through illegal means they actually have a better version of the game. Since they have the ability to delete saves and all.
Speaking hypothetically, anyway. The 3DS doesn't even have a piracy community yet.

So...does this mean Capcom doesn't think the experience of playing this game from the start is worth repeating?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWow, this is just astoundingly draconian.
While I can see where companies are coming from, wanting the profits from their games, stuff like this isn't the way to do it.
I'd say they should try and somehow get Gamestop to give them royalties on their sales. Rather than pull an asinine stunt like this.
I think Capcom is the Nicolas Cage of the gaming world.
-Facepalm-
Rather than trying to get royalties from Gamestop, I'd rather like to see the entire industry just team up and say "yeah, Gamestop doesn't get games anymore. Fuck them."
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWhat.
Wow, this baffles even me. I mean, it's not as bad as it initially seems, but it's till incredibly dumb.
And I don't see a reason to feel bad for buying used games. Granted, I prefer new games anyway and only buy used games when I can't get them new.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.
They'd be losing 10 times as much money than the money they lose from used sales.
Indeed. It's a consumer right that pretty much every other industry has.

If i didn't buy used, my game collection would be 1/3 of it's current size if not smaller. I've been buying used since the SNES days. And suddenly that makes me a villain.
Screw you Gamindustri. I support you, i believe in you, and you do get my money. But this is too much.

Bleye knows Sabers.@Thorn:Maybe in the short term. But people will just go to Best Buy or Amazon and I think they'll be glad they did it.

Infinite Tree: an experimental storyDigital distribution will eventually replace the current method. Gamestop will be like Blockbuster 15 years from now.
^Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww- Wait, what is Blockbuster in non movie sense?
Maybe but what if they put something in the game's data where once you play through it erases itself or something. Really I think that will things worse if this mentality continues.
