Similar to the yackfest thread, but without me arguing everything.

I dislike when people don't differentiate between different Northern European ethnicties. A Nyone who isn't Slavic, Italian, or Irish is jsut "white".

I dislike the fact that people consider the subject significant enough to differentiate between different ethnicities at all, much less the Northern European ones.

... White boy.

I hate it especially when people think I'm from Pakistan. I'm not, unless you live in the period before 1971.

The lack of personal responsibility. Such as the obsession with suing people.

I can think of other examples, but suffice it to say no one anymore owns up to their own fuck-ups. It's never the person fucking up's fault; it's someone else's.

I also hate this thing about 'immigrants are stealing jobs'. They're not. They're taking jobs that the 'natives' won't do themselves, like fish-gutting, or sewage cleaning.

My grandparents are. I am from Britain.

[up]I fully agree. Considering my location, we don't get too much of that. But that's because the city is half immigrant.

I dislike the need to have the latest gadgetty gadget. I mean, why in the world would you sell a phone or computer or MP 3 player solely because there is a new version out and you want that? Bizarre.

Be not afraid...

[up] Concur!

And also, people's unwillingness to give up that stupid system of measuring. Do you that most accidents caused by European truck drivers are because they mistake 60mph signs for 60km/h? Yeah.

It's also extremely illogical. How many ft in a mile? You'd have to work it. I don't know because my sig says it all. How many mm in 1km? 1mn. I can say that in heartbeat.

Its much more easier to work with as well.

In Birmingham, nearly 48% of people are classed as white (e.g. White Irish, White British, White etc.). You say anything bad about an ethnic minority in public, and boom! Straight to prison. Actually, say that anywhere, and straight to prison. We have the most strictest equality laws in the OECD.

Prudishness and busybodyism. In general, I'm of the opinion that the puritan cultural legacy should be nuked from orbit.

[up][up]I personally like the metric system, but industry has proved quite willing to rip people off with decimalization. I.e. charge the same for 500 ml of beer than they would previously charge for 600 and so on.

In before thread is locked for being an IJBM thread.

The myth of free will, overemphasis on individual causal responsibility, the bootstrap myth, methodological individualism. The undeserved respect given to unfalsifiable metaphysical beliefs. Anti-intellectualism.

Weakness. The desire my country seems to have to whine about problems or give up into apathy, instead of actively attempting to fix them. This applies on both the personal, local, and national level.

people who blame their problems purely on one group. This includes blaming conservatives/Republicans.

also, advertising prescription medications and attack ads.

also, the desire to just cut programs which don't work instead of trying to fix or reform them.
